That particular horse couldn't have cared less, although I imagine it's highly dependent on the temperament of the animal.
When I first got Yukon (wolf-dog), I had somebody over in a fox suit. He gave the fox suit kind of an odd look and decided "whatever," and it didn't seem to bother him a bit.
If you have an animal that is dependent on scent and isn't easily spooked, I don't think it's a big deal but of course, YMMV depending on the animal.

I don't know how tigers would react, but yeah, maybe not a good thing to experiment with. Yukon the wolf-dog doesn't freak over suits, but if I went in his pen with the suit on, I'd be come a very big chew toy. I wouldn't be worried about my safety, but the suit probably wouldn't look so good when he was done :D
That horse is a cutie! Percheron cross would be my guess.
You really ought to be wearing a helmet, though. I had my pony in the ring the other day, nothing going on whatsoever, a car alarm went off in the parking lot and he FLIPPED. OUT. He bucked me off and into the wall of the arena, and if I hadn't been wearing my helmet I wouldn't be typing this out right now. :C

Yes, I believe he was a Percheron cross. He belonged to some furry friends who have since moved out west.
Well, if I were riding for an extended period of time, a helmet might have been warranted, but I didn't have one at the time , and if I did, doubtful it would have fit over the fursuit head! So, sometimes you pay your money and take your chances. It was a very docile horse and it was only a couple of circles around the paddock.
I did a lot of riding in my younger years, much of it bareback, so I've been "unintentionally dismounted" many times, although that's when I was 13 and didn't think of such things (nor did most riders, for that matter).

I can agree with this for most novice-intermediate riders, but confidence in yourself and trust in your horse will definitely help overcome the little spaz-outs he has. I've only been bucked off once by the first barrel horse I owned, and got thrown in an arena full of large rocks about the size of a fist. I didn't have a helmet or anything, but had enough confidence that I'd know to tuck my head in that situation. I did, and I'm not injured. Honestly, the worst injury I've had with horses is a scar on my right arm from being bitten by a bitchy old mare. XP
(I'm by NO MEANS dissing you at all! Just giving my own opinion. =P No offense!)

Well, I can take credit for owning the suit (but not making it). I can't, however, take credit for the horse! It belonged to some local furs who have since moved to the midwest, so I haven't had the chance to ride in suit since then. The horse was amazingly calm and tolerant, and didn't seem to have any issues at all with the suit. I did, however, forego wearing the usual paws and wore boots. The paws won't fit in the stirrups, and also, where there's horses, there's ...well....you know. :D
It was great. Wish I could to it again!
