Far as I'm concerned, it's not a Metroid game without Samus Aran -- Federation Force struck me as a completely unrelated game that they were forced to bolt the Metroid name to in an ill-conceived effort to boost sales. There's precedent for that, after all, though it's not always been a failure (the oft-forgotten Dinosaur Planet springs to mind).
