Small lore sketches.
Yaraga have a funny reflex when they sleep - they grab anything that is near and won't let it go easily.
You can see one always holding own tail, pillow or edge of a blanket in their sleep. If Yaraga seems to be sleeping, but not holding something like that - he's not sleeping for real.
It comes, actually, from their evolution, due to they came to be from predatory mountain lizards of their homeland of tropical volcanic areas. So when they were sleeping on threes or cliffs, they had to clench to it for not to fall off.
Time passed, habit stayed...

Very good explanation here and perfectly justified ^^ some animals do the same thing and like for Yaraga it's basicly a defense reflex they have develop for keep safe during theyr sleep like the rabbits for exemple than sleep with open eyes for can see any kind of predator come m and can run away instinctivly ;p.
Here your realy use something logic than make the Yaraga cute cause it must certainly surprise any kind of other guy than sleep with them and don't know this natural-reflex XD... realy an adorable pic here than make these two so cute with a big "reflex" hug ^^ plus your Yaraga have a very cutie face here >w< !!
Hoo and as always amazing work on the anatomy detail you put on each part of theyr boddy and than shiw they are not from the same specie , it's what I love in your style dude you draw anatomy and details on each part, cloth and weapons included , so amazingly ^^. So pleas keep the wonderful work ;3
Honestly, I hope it for you but if one day you success to make your univer out in a game or even RP game I think Yaraga will be my favorite specy >w<
