Played an interesting sci fi game a few months back and the 'exo suit' or rigging or what ever you want to call it inspired me to try create a sci fi like gimmic for my shark characters.

The idea is the scales are bullet proof, synthetic muscles increase strength to the point they could lift several tonnes and various modular attachment points covered there body allowing ammunition pouches and such to be attached.

Unfortunately the concept didn't get past these two sketches so enjoy.
