The Warriors' New Discovery (2/6)
The three companions were able to make out a fascinating network of boxy, rectangular structures surrounded by tiny, grid-like strips of dark stone. What's more, they saw movement along those strips; miniscule, glinting critters scurried around, waiting patiently at intersections as they took turns crossing and turning in batches. The creatures had evidently taken notice of the scouts' arrival, as several of them were speeding away in the opposite direction. Two of the scouts decided to kneel down to get an even closer look, while a third boldly yet carefully managed to scoop up some of the structures and study them in a more comfortable position.
Ultimately, the three exchanged looks and silently agreed that they needed to take an even closer look to understand what was going on. They each took a stance to help them focus, and with centuries of practice under their belt, they were able to take command of the mystical energy that gave their bodies life and compress it, causing them to shrink down along with it. They were not used to changing size in this direction, as few creatures in their home dimension required the extra finesse to deal with, but as long as they could keep their concentration up then they would have no trouble maintaining the transformation.
