I've been a member of Fur Affinity now for just shy of a week. In that time, one member who has really been sweet to me is Sharra. She has taken the time to comment on my shoutbox, never making me feel like a 'n00b', and always made me feel welcome and talented. So, I decided to give back a little bit to her.
This is also the start of a new way of doing lineart / coloring. It takes quite a bit more time, but I feel it's definitely worth it. The colors, and especially the lineart, are much smoother and professional looking. Because it takes at least double the amount of time my previous coloring did, I won't be using it for my comic, but for the 'professional' stuff I will.
Tell me what you think!

Oh. Wow. Honey, I'm just utterly speechless! I saw the thumbnail of this first on my watchlist, and my eyebrows went clear through the roof, then when I noticed you'd noted me, I went to read it first, and followed the link back to this. This just touches me so deeply.
Some people might just think, oh, giftart, whoopee, but I know how valuable time is in a persons life, and the fact that you went out of your way to not only make me a present, but to so accurately and beautifully depict my character..Ah! Critique wise, you have all her details done so well. She's got her trademark blush, the eyes are just brilliantly gorgeous, and the shocked expression on her face is perfectly suited to the random lick attack. Autumn is such a sneaky little gal!
With my Zephyr, I've always tried to make her hues very soft and delicate so that the overall color scheme she has balances with everything else, and you've pulled that off better than even I do. The gentle brushwork at the edges give it a very dreamy feel ^_^
The really remarkable thing about this picture is that it doesn't just look like a drawing. I said before your pictures have life to them, but this one has SO much life and depth of expreession, that it seems more like it's a photograph someone took of the two of them in their actual world. Hehe! *HUGS and squishes to death*
Oh, I absolutely have to do something for you in return. I'm going to be grinning like an idiot all week because of this, and you just have to let me return the favor of your kindness *puuurrrsss* This is just so -perfect-.
You are so right about your new method of linework as well, this has a professional finish to it, your skill is just shooting through the roof!

Yay! *purrs back* I don't think I've ever gotten giftart myself, so I'm very excited!
And, well, I've been going over my lines digitally, so they're more 'transparent'. What I was doing before was just basically uploading lineart, and coloring in between blocks of spaces, like a coloring book. If coloring books had a feature where you pushed a button and filled the entire space with color.
One day I may do a tutorial, but I'm going to perfect my methods first. ^_~
