“The past is set in stone. The future has yet to be molded. Live in the present; forge your own path.”
Bio: As a young kitten, Jag didn't exactly have the most comfortable life. While he grew up in a caring family, an accident he suffered led to a mother who was over-protective, due to believing that she caused it to happen. While growing up, he also had to worry about a bully that lived right next door to him, terrorizing him every day almost to his adult life. One particular incident, in which said bully threatened to kill him while driving by, finally caused his mom to snap. Taking action into her own hands, she informed the police, and by the end of the year, Jag's tormentor and the rest of the family were driven out of town.
The damage had already been done. He spent the rest of his early adulthood locked into his room, only coming out for important events and food. His father, unable to understand any of this, constantly mocked the feline for being lazy and kept insisting on him getting a job, despite his established disability. It came to a head when, in a fit of rage, Jag struck his dad, saying that he had done a horrible job of raising him and refusing to live under his roof any longer. He promptly moved out and managed to find a place to stay in the nearby city. He thought he had found peace at that point; he couldn't have been more wrong.
During the early days of what would become the Infinite War, Jag's city was attacked and destroyed by the titular villain. Unable to fight back due to the fear caused by everyone he knew being slaughtered, he fled after the jackal, who eerily reminded him of his demons from the past, told him he would let him live if he did so. This would prove to be a fatal mistake for the outlaw, as Jag would eventually join the resistance run by Knuckles. At first, no one believed the cat would be able to undertake the missions tasked to him, especially when he was to rescue Sonic by himself. It was that encounter with the blue blur where he would start to find the courage to fight back, taking on more challenging missions and being able to survive them with little effort.
In Metropolis, Jag got the chance to confront Infinite once more and, remembering Sonic's words, refused to back down this time. He ultimately managed to triumph over the jackal, but in a last ditch effort, he tried to eliminate the panther with the power of the Phantom Ruby. However, the prototype that the feline found earlier in the Mystic Ruins managed to cancel out the effects, much to Infinite's confusion.
Following that battle, Jag was tasked to return to the city outskirts alongside Sonic to investigate a power surge in the area. After helping to take down a Death Egg Sentinel, he encountered what looked to be Metal Sonic, powered by the effects of the Phantom Ruby. A long, drawn out chase ensued, eventually ending in the copy's demise. This was immediately followed by him being dispatched to Green Hill to take down a giant, multi-legged mechanical crab, which he caught up to and brought down with the help of his grapple wire.
The panther's biggest challenge occurred at Eggman's Empire Fortress. After Infinite brought down the sun in an attempt to kill everyone on the planet, the Phantom Ruby prototype Jag was holding began to resonate. Tails, noticing this, realized that the cat was the only hope at reversing the effects. Overcoming all odds, he managed to make it up to the pinnacle of the fortress and, wiring himself directly into the flaming ball, used all of his courage to put it back in its proper place, at the cost of the prototype disintegrating afterward.
After helping Sonic defeat Infinite, Jag then worked together with both hedgehogs in taking down the overclocked Death Egg Robot, delivering powerful blows that made Eggman try to escape in a panic. He was chased down by the trio and, using their combined abilities, destroyed the behemoth.
Once the war finally ended, Jag decided that he wanted to create his own restoration and defense group, in an attempt to clean up any stragglers left behind and protect the vulnerable people that were rebuilding. Finding other folks with a similar interest, he formed the Rainbow Seven Squad, so named because each member specializes in a particular Wispon. As the leader, he's responsible for making sure everyone returns safely from missions that they undertake, while also communicating with the other team members to work as efficiently as possible.
When Jag isn't caught in the throes of battle or helping defend the populace, he can usually be seen in his airship base hanging with other members of the squadron. Most of the time, he's sparring with Blues in order to become stronger. Otherwise, he may be cracking jokes or playing games with the team. He doesn't talk about either his past or personal life often, especially when it comes to relationships, but rumor has it he wants to pursue more than a friendship with the wolf. When asked about this, Jag's usual response is a shrug of his shoulders, followed by him saying: “If it happens, it happens. Let life run its course.”
Jag has also found himself to be a bit of a father figure and mentor to Tyrone, the youngest member of the team, due to their shared orientation. The young hedgehog confided this to the panther shortly after the first month of him being recruited to the squad, and was relieved that he was the same way. As a result, he's usually the first one Tyrone goes to for advice on how to handle certain situations. While the cat may not always have the answers, he does his best to ensure that, no matter what happens, the hedgehog can always ask, and he can find out. This has caused the two of them to form a mutual bond with each other, and also made the feline promise to himself to protect Tyrone in any way possible so that the youth has a chance to live life his way.
Jag's signature style is being decked completely in black leather, with his Burst Wispon holstered to the side, ready to be unleashed at a moment's notice. If he's around, the rest of the squad isn't far behind, ready to kick some robotic butt if need be.
Enemies beware when a roar fills the air. You've been spotted by the cat; there is no escape from that.
