It's infinitely fascinating to see civilized species preserve their knowledge, thoughts and culture of their times in the form of written texts, as if to spite their flawed memory and short, turbulent lives. Any dragon curious and open-minded enough can eventually find a willing teacher who will help them decipher those captivating parchments and inscriptions. But...

Could they at least provide something on a more properly-sized and less fragile medium? This is truly a test of patience...

This is just a sketch that was created for fun, but I am very fond of it. As for the glasses... They might not be 100% true to the lore, but some of my canon dragons who developed the ability to read had reading lenses made for them. Being creatures of the open sky, they are naturally farsighted. Not that they can't focus their vision on something small and close... But activities such as reading cause them serious eye strain over time, sometimes headaches, even. An optical lens that alleviates that problem is therefore a prized trinket.
