I admit I have found it a challenge at times to work with a character who isn't taking the usual route of my other characters. Of course, that is the challenge I need to work on. Not everyone is always with child, after all! Amara does need some development, though, since I feel like her book reading is the only major trait I've considered. I need to work out more things for her to do any quirks in personality and all that.
Also, I'm back and forth about whether this is General or Mature. I mean, we don't see too much, but who knows what that book has in store!

Jasmine stood on the balcony, the wind embracing her purple dress and caressing across her otherwise lonely curves. Her breath was slow and quiet, and her gaze was fixed to the moon standing up in the sky, dancing among the many stars above. Oh, how she longed to be among those midnight lights, to be held close and warmed by their radiance. Maybe up there, she could be among those who cared - the stars to take her in, to support her, to love her. Nobody in the palace ever made her feel quite like the night sky did. Except for him.
“Losing yourself in the evening lights, my dream?” a low rumble filled the air behind the cheetah. Before she could turn around, she felt his hands gently rest at her hips, and her back tensed up. She could smell his cologne, only just masking the rich tones of his scent. The aroma of roses faded in and out - her favorite flower - but she did not look back at him. Her heart was filling up with emotion and about to boil over.
“Where were you tonight? I have been waiting for hours out here. I really thought you left me,”
“Leave you, kitten? Wh-why would I?” the low voice felt hurt, though the large paws remained at her hips. In fact, they gripped harder, as if fearing she would leap to the very sky she coveted.
“I heard your sister...she said I am not proper for a prince...I am but a maiden here, and you...I do not deserve you,” the cheetah’s eyesight distorted under a growing pool of tears. “They said you would be sent off soon to marry another,”
“My sister is pompous and rude, and now a liar as well. Jasmine, I do not wish for you to leave me...and I will never leave you…”
The cheetah finally turned around, and she saw the tall wolf staring down at her, his own eyes welled up with tears. He was as she always saw him, radiant as the moon and warmer than the sun. His top buttons were open on his evening shirt, leaving the familiar sight of his chest for her to drink in, reminding her of the rest of his royal build, hidden away by his coat. His paws slid up her back and he brought her front to his own. Their bodies grew warmer together in the evening air, and their scents mixed into a bouquet of flowers and desire. Her bosom pressed just beneath his own, and her muzzle looked up to him, gaze unbroken.
“Isaac…” she whispered, afraid of waking up from her dream.
“Jasmine...I want you...all of you...to be mine…”
Their eyes closed as their lips met, their bodies held together as one. Their heartbeats grew hasty, and their muscles tensed in the heat of their growing passion. Jasmine felt her body losing control, just as Isaac’s arms tightened his grip around her. Her mantle shook, ground shifted, magma boiled. An eruption was near, and the prince was a willing sacrifice.
She wanted him...all of him...and she was getting it that night.
---
Amara paused and placed the book down on her lap. She had to slow herself down, bask in the moment and take a few breaths. She had forgotten to do that for a few minutes as she read into the following pages. She could tell the evening for the two characters had only just begun, and by proxy, so was hers. She grinned goofily to herself and stared at the ceiling. Maybe it would be a good time to grab some snacks, but the urge was high to just jump right in and read some more.
One thing was certain - she sure wished she had a moonlit balcony and a prince right then. Cookie Dough Ice Cream would suffice for now.
