The final piece for my creature design exercise. This one was quite fun to do, I've been experimenting with more action-oriented scenes and how to make them involving and exciting.
Interesting notes:
- The whole scene is painted over a screen capture from the first Alien film. It was of an empty hallway and there's almost nothing left over from it in the final piece.
- My friend was the basis for the dying man (he asked to be in it)
- Unlike the Hyena Man piece, I used a fair amount of texture brushes, overlaid images and other stuff like that, which ended up cutting down on the creation time considerably
- The idea for the creature came from a dream I had a few months ago, but I've changed it substantially from the dream. There's a WIP sketch of it in my scraps gallery
Enjoy. :)

I'm 19 and haven't gone to any post-secondary yet, I'm just learning on my own so far. I hope to put together a good portfolio by next fall and enroll in school for concept design or something like that, so in a way - yes. Thanks for the encouragement, it means a lot. :)
Hey small world: I'm 19 and plan to pursue game design and specialize in game-concept development. But I'm laying low and saving cash before I get to school in about two years. I'm trying to place a portfolio of journals, you know do what I can so I make the most of things.
Ohh hey no prob, I know a big part of art is to show encouragement where it's needed and letting someone know if they are doing good. I was going to say that this scene above looks like an art student project.
