This might take a little explaining. You see, my friends in the group I chat with in the afternoons have a magical, mystical world where the characters in the mythical land of Vulpitania watch broadcasts on Scrying Orbs in a way we used to watch old pre-digital Television shows. So during one of our discussions I was intrigued with the idea of creating a scenario where one of the DMV's most popular characters, The Pie Fighting Valkyrie Vixen attempts to thwart her arch nemesis, "Marshal Grossfunk" by smashing a cream pie into the face of the Ersatz Skunk, which is the highlight of almost every episode. The series seemed to escalate from mere pie throwing though, and the actor who plays Marshal Grossfunk and his assistant "Dull Instrument" cobbled together a giant pie fighting robot from props found around the studio, and with full intent to take out our Heroine with one well placed "Pladge".

I was thinking about that as I was inking this image up. The big Pie Fighting Robot's major weakness is that it's slow and cumbersome. The spring loaded throwing arm on the right can get jammed up with excess cream and it gets all crusty too. Grossfunk is also sitting quite close to the top of the built in pie baking oven, which while the top is down can make the control cabin really uncomfortable.
LOL! (MmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmm...!)
One of these days if I save up my carbs and lose perhaps 40 pounds, I will try Black Forest Torte-Cake. After all, Fronk-En-Steen's Monster cant be all wrong.
I'll have to ask Eric about the stag henchman of the Ersatz Skunk Field Marshal. In the comments below, EOC explains things in a bit more detail.

It should. The scrying orb "Camera" and the sound recorders are all "High Magic" tech devices while the glow-lode crystal lights are fairly common. The marks on the floor and the prop sound effects door are all a little homage to my college days of doing "Stagecraft."
Hmmm I might have to do a better sketch of a scrying orb I whipped up on a post it note at work some months ago. - cleaned out a lunch tote and found it - was seriously bored one night while watching security cameras. Found another post it/ball point pen sketch of Jimminy Cockroach - the Cricket's unsavory cousin
OW! I'm being besieged by Punsters! -Good.
One of the reasons I like the "Ork Tech" from the Warhammer 40k gaming miniatures series is because the models look like something I'd draw and cobble together from the scraps, bits and pieces I have in my spares boxes. They also look like they'd be fun to build too. Unfortunately, I prefer working in 1/32nd scale or higher 'cause my vision isn't as sharp, nor are my hands as steady as they used to be.

I know the feeling. Eyes not focusing up close and I have a touch of carpal tunnel in the right hand - thumb and first two fingers. Tips are kinda numb. Have a 25mm miniature of one of my characters made up and I'm kinds stumped on how to paint her with the fingers like that. Not sure what paint to use on a 3d printed figure too...
I'd suggest Tamiya figure primer and let it dry for several days. Then finish it up with Acrylics or Enamels, or whichever paints you feel comfortable with. I have decided to invest in a new pair of magnifying binoculars, and get practicing on sculpting miniature figures again. If I find a method that helps with my shaking hands and unsteady grip, I'll be certain to share that information with you.
The figure/character in question https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36360182/ Shame they aren't printed that size instead of 25mm
Thanks for the tip. I used to use enamals. Made the mistake years ago of using some Humbrol (sp?) paints from England over enamal. Big mistake - totally messed up a model of a RAF bomber I was building

Ooooh... One of the "Model Toons" gags I remember was "Have you ever regretted getting a beautiful Glossy, satin smooth finish on your model car's body only to discover as you're putting the paint away that ye label says; "Not intended for use on plastics"?
Oh YEAH! If I could get Heroforge back into "Centauroid" mode, I'd start throwing money at them again. That Cat-Woman is just too cool.

I play her at times on Furcadia - a mute lioness warrior. Esisi had taken a blow to her throat when trying to defend her cubs from a pair of Lions who had killed her mate and wanted to breed her. They left her for dead and she was found by and cared for by an older Human Wildlife Officer. Whole back story is a mishmash of Furcadia stuff, a portion of Joy Adams Born Free along with bits of E. R. Burroughs and H Rider Haggard - think Tarzan novels and King Solomon's mines with a mix of Anthros and Humans
Hmmm! You know? John Crowley wrote the first Science Fiction novel I recall enjoying which featured Antrhropomorphic Lions in 1976. "Beasts" had genetically upgraded Leonoids plus a few other creatures, but I was really taken with the idea of leonine motorcycle "Prides" roaming the highways.
I had to check and see how Heroforge is doing and found out they're in a "2.0" mode. I noticed they didn't have "Feral" animal bodies listed, but perhaps they have those models on another page. Let me tell you, if I could get them to make figures in 55mm scale, I'd be set!
You think merging a Lion character with their "Warg" might work for a better Centaur Lion?

as far as I know Humbrols are intended for plastics. they are even enamel. makes me wonder what you used as the other paint... then again I found out acrylics and enamel don't go along well.
I've been using revell and humbrol on polystyrene as well as on zamac for decades. but I am not sure on the white plastic heroforge uses... I have mine printed in black.

Odd, I had used I think it was Revell paint on that A20 Havoc model then tried Humbrol on top of it, paint went all werid. Was in the mid 1970s, perhaps the mix has changed over the years. Looking over the figure of Esisi - the plastic it was printed from is white and there seems to be some sort of grey primer on it already. I'll probably ask Hero Forge what paint they recommend. Shame the rifle had to be a Mauser - previous art of her has her holding a #1 Mk III SMLE rifle - oh well she probably has taken a number of rifles from Poachers over the years.
Esisi is a cool name. Considering the scenario your character is in, she might just take advantage of using any cast off weapons she'll find laying around. (And a few clips of the proper fitting ammo too.)
Visiting the Heroforge site, (Again and again as it's a great way to spend an idle afternoon.) I see that they can work in several materials, including plastic, resin, and even some light metals like "White Metal" or Brass. We might be seeing, and participating in the "Next Chapter" of scale model building too. Back in the late 1990s, when 3-D printing technology was just catching on, there was an article in Fine Scale Modeler magazine that suggested that "Hobby shops" might one day be a place full of 3-D printers cranking out the bits and pieces, custom made for the off site "Customers". I'm waiting for the technology to become a bit more reliable before I invest in my own home 3-D printer system though.
Strange... Heroforge still gives no indication of the scale they can print their figures in. I'm guessing thy use the common 1/48th or 6.35mm scale. I noticed they do caution that their larger, or "XL" figures might cost a bit more because they use up more material.

Glad you like her name - Esisi Kazi - Zulu for "Lioness" The human who found her started calling her that when tending to her wounded throat - his trackers had kept calling her Lioness in their language. Esisi was left mute due to the blow to her throat and has never tried to tell anyone her real name - the Game Warden had taught her English and how to write using a wooden slab with beeswax on it and a stylus - something she could work up out in the bush as it were - paper, pens and pencils are hard to come by and wear out or get soggy in the rain season.
Oh the 3d printing is being used for a lot of industrial prototyping. Factory I helped guard had a printer in the engineering section for the design engineers to use. Can't say any more - still under some NDA from hell from that outfit.
I noticed something on the Heroforge page about 25mm being the standard. Heh, something the size of a 1/6 scale figure would be fun but dang expensive. Could turn my old 1/6 GI Joe into the game warden....

Oh yes, that is what she does, even has been given some items from a few hunters on legal hunts - she does some work as a guide and tracker along with helping guard against Hyena raiders. Funny thing, picked up a nice 1950s Swedish made hunting Mauser recently - been calling it Esisi's rifle
A handful of other bits:
(1) Marschall Grossfunk and Dull Instrument are characters created by DMV to take the piss of two "real" characters, the Marshal of Faerie Prince Roland (a skunk, and the younger brother of the High King and Emperor of Faerie) and his vassal, Westersloe Winterbough V (a roebuck often referred to as the King's Blunt Instrument).
(2) DMV stands for "Der Mass-Scry Vulpitania." Their logo can be seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/24849652/ which is a colour poster for this show.
(3) A "monchbox" for the show can be seen here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35321170/
(4) Vulpitania is another realm in Faerie, which is dominated by foxes. It's famous (infamous?) for its production of joke items (think Johnson Smith Catalog), gekkering vulps, and assorted cheating and being "schneaky und zly."
(5) The Pie-Fight Valkyrie herself is DMV's way of taking the piss of the Wolf Queen, who has a similar outfit.
(6) You can find out a lot more about DMV in my story "From Vulpitania, With Love," which is here on FA.

Scrying orbs are probably extremely rare in Elfhame, other than the one the Master of Elfhame has. The roe-does have very little interest in what goes on outside Elfhame, and for the most part, the roebucks are busy with making toys, growing persimmons, drinking, playing post-ball and farting to take much of an interest outside the Vale. The Vale is a fairly isolated place, and nearly everyfur there likes it that way. The Master, of course, has to keep up with affairs in the Capitals.
Still Muzzing on the interior set up of that monstrosity. It started out as a mechanical prop representing the dread "Kringle" but Westersloe Winterbough coming from a long line of magical woodworkers and clockmakers figured out how to get the contraption to walk on two legs. He also changed the face of the machine t look more like a badger, which was still intimidating, but not as frightening.
It is story canon that there's a colony of Elfhamian immigrants in Vulpitania. One of them plays "Dull Instrument" on the show (an actual roebuck! as opposed to Grossfunk, who is not a real skunk but is played by a fox with dyed fur.) The actor portraying "Dull Instrument" could have a high mechanical aptitude since the Elfhamians were invited to Vulpitania originally to work as craftsmen for the many novelty-gag firms. I don't think we ever gave this roebuck a name (ask Mr. Costello) but he isn't Westersloe. Now that I think of it, his name is probably Humbert.
Hehe combine Alice with Steamboy perhaps? Wait... https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipe.....868%29_big.jpg 1868 steampunk for ya
(Grunts with recognition.) When The Far Side was still being printed in the dailies, the cartoons became so popular with the Docents, Staff and Scientists at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum that they had to create an exhibit featuring Gary Larson and his works. I never got to see it, but I'll bet it added a humorous spin to the museum's somewhat "Stuffy" old displays and insect collections.
On a side note, Schirm donated several volumes of collected "Little Abner" books to the Pasadena Public Library, and when he and I visited the place many years ago, we discovered some fiend, or fiends had cut pages and strips from the books with a razor knife. Some creeps just have no respect for "Public" property, it seems.

I ran into that at one University Library - someone was cutting prints from some 19th century books. I complained to the library staff, they just shrugged and didn't do squat. Next time I saw the sob cutting up books in a back area, I just cold cocked him and left him in a heap at a study desk. I have a bit of the Viking temper
Well... Good for you and Bad for him. One of the reasons people perform such acts of thoughtless vandalism is because they believe they could get away with it. So in this instance you stopped the action at it's source, just as it started. (Snickers to self.) I guess one way to get the Library staff to spring into action would be to add a price tag to the damage. Yell "HE'S DEFACING A $400.00 BOOK!" as loudly as possible so everyone, including the Perp can hear you.
Oh it was from a Gov't Document Repository section of the Library. Was the Report of the Beale Expedition - US Army mapping of the territory acquired during the Mexican War. Beale's trail became the path for the Santa Fe RR, parts of Route 66 and I 40. I was reading the volumes at times and noted that the prints were missing. Heh, there was a bit of a flap after the guy was found knocked out with a box cutter and damaged books. No one knew anything about it - no security cameras in the Library
Was that Sphinx version of Tali from last year then? That was good work.
the Mills Harbor piece still kinda gets to me. Needed something for my bike recently - found the 2 bike shops I went to for parts and repairs have closed despite the number of people who were buying bikes and other outdoor rec/exercise equipment.

By golly, you're right. I guess the confusion stems from the fact that I completed the pencil work early in 2020, then inked and colored it in May of that year. I originally did it as a "Tease" for The Major, but I must admit that after coloring it, "The Wine Merchant" is one of my favorite, recent artworks.
I figure the crust alone would take about an hour at 350 degrees f. Now the cream filling was whipped up out of a can and took hardly any time at all. You might find it interesting to note that in the magical world of "Fairie," scrying crystal balls have become something like network television. The "Pie Fight Valkyrie" show has a diminutive vixen who is either the victim of, or foiling Marshall Grossfunk's plans. Vulputanian audiences enjoy the shows that end with the vixen smooshing a pie in the ersatz skunk's face.
