Her determined cop side overriding her heat for the moment, Carmelita walked over to examine the present, her mind racing with questions that temporarily dulled the burning desire coiling in her belly.
How had this present gotten into her room? Clearly, she needed to change the locks to her home.
What was in the box? The rose suggested chocolates, but she'd still be opening it with caution in case the gift was a trap from some crime lord she'd busted in the past.
Who was it from? There was the OBVIOUS suspect, of course, but she knew she had no small share of admirers on the Force. Madre de Dios, if this was from that cheesy, out-of-shape Winthorpe...
