Shortly after his marriage, the territory he was residing in was invaded. After narrowly escaping death, Ariel made his way to the Capitol, and after an audience with his father-in-law, was promoted to Captain in the Provincial Gendarmes and given a set of armor, to go with the sword made for him by his uncle.
