Now here's a face I don't think I've uploaded to FA. If you dig waaaaaaaaaaay back on my DA you might find him but tbh i literally cannot remember if I posted him in a gallery or just somewhere on livejournal. ANYWAY. This is Raldaralda, he's an old Irish setter and the reason Deuteronomy joined Neuron's fighting ring. She hero worshiped him extensively and got him to teach her everything he knows.

His ending is a bitter-sweet one. At one point he accepts that the ring is not a good life and tries to convince deuteronomy to leave with him. She refuses. Years down the line they meet again and he has had all his teeth filed down and his claws pulled out in an "extreme act of non-violence". It breaks Dueteronomy's heart to see him like that.

As for why he can talk and whatnot, Raldaralda is an old witch's familiar.
