AAA this is kind of just a glorified sketch but I really wanted to post her!! She's a character I made back in college and then promptly forgot about. Her name is Duchess and she's an old timey prostitute (maybe a madam). She loves to gamble and party with pirates!!!!!! In fact one of her best friends is a pirate captain named Yuirk; he's a Steller's sea cow. I'll have to get him drawn here sometime as well.
I would really like to paint this or at the very least add some shading, but ALAS. So much art so little time.

I think one of the problems is that they're one of those animals that is really done a disservice by how they're stylized in cartoons. The big bubbly peanut head + four square teeth + big friendly smile isn't very representative of how cool and terrifying they are in real life.
Hopefully that changes at some point and we can see MORE HIPPOS.
