The light of dawn fell on the slumbering figure. With a slow twitch the figure stirred, Slowly an eyelid raised allowing the yellow eye to look around.
“Morning” Mirian grinned down at her Mother, Eldrana gave a grunt and threw off the blanket she had been sleeping under. She regretted it almost immediately as the dawn chill hit her reminding her once again of her rather scant new armour. She pulled her cloak tightly around herself and sat on a log next to Mirian and looked around the forest clearing they had camped in.
“Anything happen during the night?” She asked.
Her daughter shook her head.
“Quiet.” She answered as she handed Eldrana a tankard of hot broth for breakfast.
“Hopefully the next town will have a blacksmith that can do something about….this….’Battle Bikini’” Eldrana commented with a wave at the armoured bra and knickers she had been sold back in Aidenstown.
“I really don’t see your problem with it.” Mirian grinned as she ate her own food. “After all, it’s light, you haven’t been hit once while wearing it and Sally was right, you look fantastic in it.”
Eldrana felt the heat of embarrassment rise in her face:
“While that may be true, this is hardly suitable…. attire… for a Paladin.”.
The two Worgens sat in silence for a while before Eldrana stood and began collecting her equipment.
“Come, it is time we moved on.”
Mirian picked up her staff and travel bag, “Which way?”
Eldrana scanned the tree line for a moment then pointed in the direction of a few wisps of smoke that were rising into the air.
“That way, there looks to be a settlement in that direction.”
She drew her sword and with a swish of her long cape she lead the way into the forest, Mirian followed keeping her staff at the ready, the woods had been quiet but you couldn’t be too careful…
So Inktober 2 the prompt was ‘Wisp’ and we have the first page of what I’m hoping will be a short story/adventure during the month.
Eldrana and Mirian have been very kindly lent to me by
Sqizzle and belong to him
Hopefully there will be some fun adventuring ahead.
