And because it's spooky time and it's been like five years, I thought I would share this as well.
Anyone who knows me, knows that I supported Shadow of the Eternals, the would-be successor to Eternal Darkness, when it was being crowdfunded. Whatever lingering thoughts you might have about it or the development heads behind it, I'll be happy to discuss them... in a civil way; all the various allegations have come out and been beaten to death, we've all heard the stories, and the funding failed with them moving on to focus on other projects like Deadhaus Sonata. It's ancient history now, no need to dig up old wounds.
That said, at some point on their message board, the team said... something about what they expected from the enemy and boss ideas we submitted, and I half-jokingly asked if I could put forward myself as a contender. I (possibly just as jokingly) got a green light, so I commissioned this to accompany the topic thread. Most of the responses were either supportive or apathetic (leaning towards the latter), with nobody really griping over a potential self-insert the way people do now with So Sorry in Undertale. Whether it would have been seen as cringy or not if the game came to fruition and the wider public saw it, I'll leave up to individual interpretation, but I'm still really happy with how this pic turned me into an appropriately eldritch opponent. The various sticks poking out of my limbs are an especially nice touch.
