METAPHORICALLY yes she will walk all over you canonically she was deeply upset at the idea of being surrounded by independently narrating entities when she previously described the world (literally, as in she narrated it/was it to everyone within it, and also described it as in described the shape and limits of it by it being her and therefore her limits were the limits of the world) and tried to consume everyone on the beach
she did not actually win, and they cut off her wings as a metaphor for removing the majority of her processing power, forcing her to present herself as a wizard who used "magic" just to even justify to other narrators that she had any powers at all and allow her to breach their gap of belief
she did not actually win, and they cut off her wings as a metaphor for removing the majority of her processing power, forcing her to present herself as a wizard who used "magic" just to even justify to other narrators that she had any powers at all and allow her to breach their gap of belief
sv isn't actually a god she's a world consciousness precipitate's ground level manifestation
she was once an entire universe that died, as worlds do, and the world consciousness washed up as a whalefall on the gray beach. the sv body manifestation is just part of the lucid dying dream that the world is experiencing, but is also simultaneously the identity necessary for providing context for the dying world to dream.
everyone who falls into the gray beach loses their world narrator and is forced to become self narrator. interaction, which is normally handled by the world consciousness acting as arbitrator between input (person a wishes to do something to person b; the world consciousness must vet the action and describe it so it can take effect) becomes an issue of breaching the gap of belief (each person is an independent narrator, therefore, to act on one another, narrative drifts must consent to the action, or be forced into consent by being presented with a situation their ground level manifestation can't disbelieve (achieved by presenting a weight of verisimilitude the unconscious narrator's node-point takes for granted and implicitly consents to the reality of, causing their own self-narrative force to narrate the effect as occurring to them)), the strength of which is determined by the narrator-function's own finesse and the self-awareness of the metafictional game at play by the ground-level manifestation of it which is being acted upon
absolute self-awareness of one's own narrative force does still not provide absolute supremacy because a sufficient weight of verisimilitude can still overpower a target's gap of belief regardless of consent after a certain point; although there is a gap of infinite distance moderated by consent, a sufficiently convincing narrator with an abundance of evidence can convince even a very well-seated narrator to accept this new interaction's results and effects
the narrative weight is a function of several things, although sheer narrative weight is the most important, determined by the amount of interactions another person has had with others, as well as their own stylized metaphors and tropes--a person who creates themself as a questing hero in a way that appeals to the narrative traditions familiar with other narrating-entities will be able to present a more persuasive "argument" when acting as a questing hero--no self-narrating entity that began as a lower-gate function of a ground-level identity is so accustomed to being so sovereign in determining narrative structure that this can be entirely ignored and are immune to persuasion
this is not just relevant to the gray beach, but to the greater meta-setting and real life as well, as any meta-fictionally active and self-narrating entity follows this same process, regardless of if they're a simple looped authorial line or outward body manifestation of a universe--they are all equally classifiable as a World, and follow the same rules, in the same way that particles will follow the rules that govern their interactions
as something that originated as a narrating entity and not as a narration-receptive entity, sv in her completed, non-amputated form can be very persuasive, and when self-expressing openly as a world, can overcome verisimilitude-based blow-back from other narrative-entities' gaps of belief, normally a limit on anything extreme on a basis of "i don't believe you are that powerful;" as a world, she can exert so much narrative pressure other entities' narrations feel the gates which once connected them to a world consciousness become hijacked/persuaded by the force of her own narrative override
to this effect complete-sv can do more than just act upon you physically and "bypass" (persuade beyond your narrative's ability to deny) your gap of belief; she can insert entire narrative lines like a parasitic, narrative-hijacking world, and while vulnerable especially when inserting narration that conflicts with the established character of the entity overriding, when keeping these insertions to natural suggestions that would match the narrative potential of the narrating-entity's insertions into their own ground level manifestation, sv can dictate on small terms important details such as:
dang, she looks pretty COOL in those boots HAHA GET IT SHE IS SNOWING and is the snow and the air but COOL it's a PUN HAHAHAHAHHAHAH

Incredible boots, and I love her eyes, too, and that cocky expression. Confidence is half the battle, isn't it?
I loved the explanation in the comments, too. It's a really fascinating structure and description for things and it makes SV that much more interesting as a character and entity. The gray beach is a fascinating home of flickering embers, some burning so much brighter than others.

Let me see if I understand this.
SV was a world. She/it died and wound up on the beach. "Foxy lady SV" is the personification of the world as an individual (in the same way like, a wiki-chan is the personification oftheir wiki? Or uh, I dunno, the Hetalia characters "are" their countries?)
SV took especially badly to the perspective shift of going from the most powerful and free-willed thing around to being Not, went on a rampage, was symbolically mutilated to strip her of her powers, and now plays at being a wizard to narratively justify her remaining power.
Am I getting it right?

all correct except the capitalization of Not, which in-parlance refers to the opposite of Is, but can also be an act of denial. while the gap of belief can be variously interpreted as a shell of Not surrounding the narrative system, it can also be understood as a gap of infinite distance between stories
the gray beach itself sits in the liminal psuedo-contextual space/is the psuedo-space given context by proximity to the centerpoint of Is (the City in the Middle, point 0x0y0z of reality) and Not (the voidwaste, the ashen precipitate of failed worlds)

I think I'd meant to type Not That but the terminology lesson is interesting
And SV was extremely powerful prior to being symbolically mutilated because she's a World and everyone knows Worlds are like, the most powerful thing around, yes?
Like, you cant convince yourself narratively she *can't* do something because "hey, she's a World, who knows what Worlds can do"?

your internal narration system is, in the gray beach, truncated. normally a narrative system is a series of gated identities that function ROUGHLY, metaphorically as follows (read from bottom to top):
higher coil complication: worlds are subordinates within this system in an infinite coil. the godhead is an infinite space containing infinity and consists wholly of a single I-Am.
^^^^^^^^^^^
world consciousness: the I-Am of the world, the absolute and supreme author of existence that dictates what happens when. this is the author, who decides you get angry because it is necessary for the story to occur in the way it wishes it to. it has simultaneous control along this system to every entity within itself.
^^^^^^^^^^^
rule abstraction gate: the heirs of the succession divided into this concept that is the determination of how resolution occurs. these are the higher laws of physics determine the actions within the conceit of verisimilitude. this is the same as the base molecular level, but abstracted to a higher coil.
^^^^^^^^^^^
potential, potentially active, I-Am: a potentiality for an identity that exists outside of one's personalized system, not wholly subordinate to the higher system above but not independent of it in terms of context either; metaphysical wizards develop this I-Am to create an inviolable redoubt and hijack their individualizing gate and send information back upwards to manipulate reality. esoteric mystics and levayan wizards develop this point as a means to perform magic. this is your "solar body", to think with it is to think with a self free from the mess of reality but able to interact with it at a greater, divine will
^^^^^^^^^^^
individualizing gate: the lowest level gate processor in a functional system, this is the world's folder for you that separates you from other Identities. this is the space of shaped story that decides where you begin and other systems end. to think with this gate is to see yourself as one puppet among many, your actions dictated from above and below in concordance with a framing script. you are angry because information from above desires it; you are angry because this gate validated it and caused it to occur from the bottom up. this functions similar to the base mental I-Am in that it can identify the influences of different systems' effects and be able to attempt to make choices contrary to these impulses, depending on strength of the layer above
^^^^^^^^^^^
temporary I-Am: the concept of "I" on a higher metafictional level that determines what the person's identity is narratively. to think with this I is to think with a self outside of the constrains of the body, and to think of one's implementation in story. this is a reflexive I, a cheat-sheet used by the world to say "Oh, you should be angry because of X, Y, and Z. let's set the levels below to respond accordingly." this is, in normal cases, reference material only.
^^^^^^^^^^^
base mental: the concept of "I" performed by the meat of the brain, a conscious entity chained downward to gross biological functions but still able to identify the influence of the biological/chemical/psychological and attempt to make choices contrary to these impulses; you feel angry, because someone said something that, thinking about, is incompatible with your worldview and you are frustrated and so you say, no, it's fine to be upset about this, actually
^^^^^^^^^^^
base biological: the hormonal and chemical and electrical reactions that determine identity via organic process. you feel angry because a stimulus provoked a response that caused adrenaline and associated memories to surface, affecting the function of the system
^^^^^^^^^^^
base molecular: not the rules that determine it, but the fact that the chemical hormones of the body respond in certain ways in relation to one another; this wraps around back up to a higher level because it is not a direct stacking order; you are upset because when these chemicals and electrical patterns interact in this way, that is the emotion experienced on the higher level
i probably missed layers of granularity and this is a gross simplification but it'll do the job for this description
normally you're all of these things. in the gray beach, on the effective level you're probably truncated up to the individualizing gate. this was a narrating gate, to a degree, but it never had the duty of performing EVERYthing for you. your sense of self is now in deep distress! there's ostensibly nothing above you filtering down instructions! there's no higher set of rules defining how things should be for you! this is a narrative PARSER now being forced to perform NOVEL and CREATIVE NARRATIVE GENERATION instead!! it's very stressful!
but here comes a world-system-I-Am that wants to use those familiar channels to insert instruction into you just like the GOOD OLD DAYS before you had to do this ALL ON YOUR OWN oh yes PLEASE let me surrender my free will to you this feels so much more safe i am no longer chopped off at the top and leaking story we are back to being part of a closed system!!!! and that's why undamaged sv can hijack people fairly easily and why all whalefalls with semi-functioning world consciousnesses can do it it is very scary

So "when self-expressing openly as a world, can overcome verisimilitude-based blow-back from other narrative-entities' gaps of belief, normally a limit on anything extreme on a basis of 'i don't believe you are that powerful'" was in reference to an inherent meta-property of being A Narrative-Bound Being, not so much an element of conscious knowledge, got it.
Honestly tho what's so bad about having a god re-insert themselves as your author free will sounds scary
Honestly tho what's so bad about having a god re-insert themselves as your author free will sounds scary
it can be conscious knowledge depending on where you situate your sense of self
to survive well on the gray beach your highest level identity can't really get along being a passive parser system. most people do have a developed Identity running things, even if there's a disconnect between it and the lower level function
to use the metaphor like this, a normal world is a story one person is writing. everyone within the story is a part of that author. but the author has established rules for the setting that constrain what they would write--the rule abstraction gate. then, the author has to make a character do something to fit into a plot, but they can't just make the character do ANYthing, because that character has an established identity. the individualizing gate and the temporary I-Am's checks on the author's own authority. then, when the author determines an action that passes muster of what is in-character for that character to do, the action is carried out on lower levels, but by the author's own handwritten narration
that's how a normal world works. that author could be themselves part of a higher system--writing a story about an author writing a story, or in our real lives, someone writing a universe is constrained by these rules but is themselves part of this system to another author. that's fine that's normal.
in gray beach, this is a true liminality between authorship.
gray beach works like a roleplaying game without a rules system. it's a freeform RP run by consensus.
each single person is controlled by a single author. there's no over-author, no rule-set, no GM to say "okay, here's what happens." narration must be provided to each individual character by each individual author. if you want to punch billy there, you have to narrate your actions, and send the implications over to billy. you write "I wind up a big strong punch and throw it right at your face!" ... but it's up to billy's narrator to then say "Billy wasn't paying attention, and he gets clocked in the jaw! He falls to his knees!"
you didn't knock him to his knees, Billy's narrator did it to himself. THAT is the gap of belief that exists between entities here. if Billy's narrator tries to go "nuh-uh i NINJA DODGED IT", well that's bullshit. you pressure him, out of character, to accept that it happened. "no, that's bullshit," you send to them on an authorial level, "I don't believe that. no other authors witnessing this believe it either. write that it happened, or none of us will play with you anymore"
and in this system, no one playing with you means you cease to meaningfully exist in reality, and in the gray beach, you hemmorage story and cease to BE.
but a more powerful author can say "what if i get hit in the face but i just stumble back, my character's actually pretty tough, see?" and you say "hm, well, that makes sense, you have justified that in-story before" and so you let it play out like that.
but here comes a fucking GM all of a sudden. here comes someone who doesn't just have a handful of rules that came with them personally--Billy says "well my rules system says I heal at this rate" and everyone goes "yeah ok" and so billy uses the rules from the game he's familiar with, but no, here's a GM with a MASSIVE FUCKING BOOK of rules
and that GM sits all of you down around a familiar table, and starts narrating everything that happens
and suddenly you're like, oh shit, right, this is how i've played dungeons and fuckbirds my whole life, this feels RIGHT to me, yeah okay this makes sense now
so the GM--sv, here--says "see, here in the rules, this says this means this. that means this happens to you, which causes this" and the rules are so exacting and perfect and now what, you're gonna really be able to say "uhm... no, the, the rules don't apply to me?"
because maybe you can! maybe you can go "no, that's bullshit, we don't play like this in the gray beach"
but a lot of people are going to go "oh thank fuck this freeform RP bullshit was twinky and unbalanced as hell and none of us could agree on a good story, you seem to know what you're doing, so what happens next?"
