Its kind of like a pastel and a charcoal pencil put together. I've used it mostly as highlight in recent classes, but back in highschool i did a few full drawings with it. Its nice if you don't want to make as big of a mess as using charcoal usually makes.

But I love charcoal messes! Of course, I can work in oil pastel and get it all over me.

lol, I can imagine that. I love oil pastels. But everything I've done with them has been super expressive/surreal.

I need to get some that are creamier than the ones I have now...

I need to get oil paints and canvas too~ I plan to do a lot of plein air drawing/painting this summer :3
