The survivor stepped into the dusty station, the scene of carnage before him no longer surprising at this point. It seemed that the officers within had performed a last stand against the zombie hordes that had swpt through the city years ago. Bullet holes lined the wall and the husks of the dead had been left where they had been slain. Still, it had not been enough. The sheer size of the hordes had proven too much for the relatively small station.
Even now this was a fairly dangerous prospect. Although the abandoned station promised rich rewards, there was always the threat of a zombie sleeping among the bodies. They would have to be quick. Rummaging through the policemen's bodies, they hoped to find a few intact bullets or radios. Given how quickly the station had fallen, there had to be something left behind.
Overturning an officer whose dried facial flesh was still peeled back in a gurgling cry, the survivor bumped into a barricade. With a curse, they reached out to grab the haphazardly stacked furniture but it was too late. They all came down with a resounding crash.
Heart beating fast, the survivor pulled out their pistol, watching for movement among the bodies.

No sign of stirring coming from the dead, the survivor sighed, relaxing their guard slightly. Maybe there was nothing to worry about after all.
A rattling hiss suddenly echoed from behind the survivor. Whipping around they pointed their pistol at a rising figure from within the pile of bodies. Parts of its body glowed, blue and red lights shining off of its bleach-white skull. It was dressed in a heavy-duty riot uniform, the glass shield over its face cracked. The pistol would be useless here, it was too well protected!
With a wordless wheezing cry, it began to shamble towards the survivor, its armor clanging as it moved in for the kill.
I really enjoy horror and all the spooks/concepts that come with it. Whether its psychological horror or slasher terror, there's always a bit of fun to be had in the idea of forces who resist the idea of human supremacy and/or normality. One idea that I always found particularly interesting were zombie riot officers. Individuals encased in protection that could pose a challenge for the average shoot-them-until-they-drop enthusiast.
Part of my annual tradition horror icons I use for October, this one features Rygone, as his Umbreon version, in a far more terrifying and skeletal form!
