A long overdue commission.
I was given free reign over what outfit to give her and I figured what better outfit to give than one that would DESTROY MAH HAND.
All in all though I cannot complain. The umbrella isn't the most spectacular but I admit I went more for the stylization than a realistic approach. The background is another simplized texture but that is mainly because simple background was requested. Which is good, cause I think I would have probably died if I had to draw a park or a garden or someplace ontop of ze frills.

I love drawing costumes and design...but I usually like to take my time on such things. Try things out, make sure this works with that. Usually takes me a couple pages which never works at cons since usually I get a book and its like "ok Amber. Only got one shot for this!" I always feel so bad about Anthrocon because sometimes people have the neatest concepts but the time it would take to do them would be brutal on me.
Actually critiquing the pic.
At first I thought the pattern behind her was a window of some kind. It's held at such extreme angle that there's no third dimension to it. Admittedly I understand it would have been a lot more of a pain to draw adding that third dimension.
