Phones are such easy things to lose. Down the side of the sofa, into the storm drain... It looks like Nova has lost hers in Vienna, however. Maybe she was up a ladder and fumbled it as Vienna was walking past underneath and yawning. Maybe Vienna found it laying around on the table and gobbled it up to tease the sergal. Maybe Nova dropped it the last time she was in Vienna's belly. Nova can't just ask for it back - Vienna would respond by swallowing her down to "make it easier to reach"!
And so, she's snuck into Vienna's bedroom at night, carefully slipped one arm down the mouse's throat, and is groping around the slimy stomach to try to find her precious phone. It's a dangerous task - one strong flex of the mouse's tight throat would be all that was needed to turn Nova into a midnight snack, and if Vienna actually woke up, the very least Nova could expect was a thorough squeezing from that oversized tail! She just has to be careful... She can almost reach it... Just lean... A little... Deeper......
Today's prompt is Midnight from the Voretober list! Wanted to try out some perspective work, and actually drawing hands for once instead of hiding them behind things (I'm looking at you, Pancake Plate in the last submission). It's looking better than I expected! I might have to start being more ambitious with these!
Sketch completed in ~1 hour, B pencil on 150gsm A5 paper. I've lost my pencil sharpener, so I only have 2 sharp pencils left... Hmm.
Vienna excessively gluttonous mouse belongs to
ifra !
Nova is mine, although she might be Vienna's if she's not careful.
For those of you who're not sure, Voretummber is a derivative of Inktober, a challenge where 31 prompts are provided in a bid to get artists to draw one themed picture every day for the entire duration of October. I'm using both of the following two prompt sheets, and selecting a prompt as I see fit! I'm not guaranteed to actually do them all, nor to do them on the listed day, but I'll stay as close as I can to the schedule!
