O, heck yeah! A great take on this classic bimbo.
Harvey Kurtzman and Will Elder were geniuses. I recently picked up a copy of Harvey Kurtzman's Jungle Book -- still funny after more than 60 years.
In my estimation, the only modern character who comes close is Dean Yeagle's Mandy.

Wowee! It's like Annie ended up in Zootopia. I always remember the first Annie Fanny story I ever read- The opening panel showed Annie and her crazy noncomformist friend Homefree skinny-dipping... "Skinny-dipping in an idyllic picture-postcard setting, in a secret glen where no one can see... No one except several million beady-eyed readers, eh?... You beady-eyed reader, you?" And of course, off to one side, Bill Elder drew a moose watching the girls, eyes bugged out and antlers gone limp. Yeah! Hooray for Harvey Kurtzman and Bill Elder!
