it's a phrase a lot of people have heard, but some may not understand. A phrase that has by some, been something that they try to warp into a political issue rather then a human rights issue. I am not a trans individual, nor is the character Priley. I do not know what it is like to be a trans individual, I can understand the concept, but I do not know what it actually is like. However I support those who are struggling with the fight for basic rights.
For many people it is easy to not care about it, to brush it off because it doesn't effect them. However these are fellow human beings and I believe that people should be treated equally. I will admit I have not been the best ally in the past. I won't lie and act like I have been some outstanding and compassionate person from the start. There were friends of mine that I could have been more understanding of. For me it was confusing, it still is, that something I was taught my whole life could fundamentally and scientifically be incorrect. However I regret that I wasn't fully there for friends, and I appreciate the patience some have given me.
If you are getting your view on the matter of the trans commubity through "cringe" videos, or examples of people who are spiteful then I ask you step back and consider that these are attempts to downplay a real issue. Many people just want to be treated fairly, to be treated human, and to not have to live in fear just for being themselves.
I once said that trans people should not have to validate their existence, I stand by that. They should be allowed like anyone else to live with basic human rights and protections.
Some people may for, whatever reason, be upset to see me support this. For those of you who are upset that I would voice my concerns over the rights of other living people I have only one thing to really say
