The only things that allowed the Hylians to take control of Hyrule instead of getting crushed is that they're essentially the Goddesses' favorites and they're the clear human expy race. Seriously, The moblins are aided by what's essentially Hyrule's Satan expy, the Gorons are the tank-class of Zelda races, the Ritos would have complete air superiority, and the Zoras have complete control of the Hylians' water supply, at least pre-BOTW. The Hylians are definitely one of the weaker major races. Not counting Korok or one-shot races, the only major race that would be at a bigger disadvantage are the Gerudo since they literally depend on another race for reproduction. If the Goddesses took a more neutral stance, the Hylians would control far less territory, assuming a king didn't anger the other races to the point they wiped the Hylians out.
Yes indeed. That goddess is always playing favorites. Humph. It’s no wonder 2 of the triforce bearers are Hylian and the triforce of power had to be taken by force by the Gerudo’s “only man” hence their king or whatever. Rito have air superiority and are the best at long distance combat. Honestly I’m surprised that, just cuz the goddess plays favorites, no other race has the potential to be the hero cuz of reincarnation and such. Tough as goron are, they’re kinda as dumb as the rocks they eat. Rito and Zora have a fair balance of good combat ability and a fair amount of knowledge. Imagine how much would get done if just once a Rito or Zora was the hero.
