Reminds me of a joke I read a while back 'It's easy to figure out who is in front of you by firing a shot at them:

If you take immediate, accurate rifle fire in return, they're British.

If they reply with a hail of submachine gun fire, they're Russian.

If you take large volumes of machine gun fire, they're German.

If nothing happens for a few minutes, then you get plastered with artillery and/or tac-air, they're American.
