I still think about my sweet Imari every single day. It hasn't gotten much easier yet. I'm hoping that once I have finished paying off my vet bill debt, I can stop thinking about it so much, and instead remember the positive times we shared. Fortunately, I'm getting very close to being all paid off. Five figures I charged to my credit card in an attempt to save this boy. Late November will be one year since his passing, and I'm thinking I might even have the entire debt paid off by then. That would be a nice goal to shoot for.
I don't believe in any sort of afterlife, but sometimes I like to think that Imari is somewhere in kitty heaven with Dorito, and Cora, and Lily, and all of the other sweet babies I've had to say goodbye to. I miss you, buddy.

I lost my cat when I was in high school due to my parents being rather.. neglectful of her, she was clearly sick and all they did was throw her into my room which she passed away about a month or two after that happened. I am still mad at my family for not bothering to do anything about her illness and the sad thing is that they're practically doing the same thing to the family dog. I don't live with my family anymore but it's upsetting that they're still mistreating their pets.
(sorry for random story, just reminded me of my cat, am glad yours got to see how much you loved them before they passed away, you did all you could to save them)

I also have some unpleasant feelings toward my parents in regards to treatment of childhood pets. My cat Dorito, who passed away, at 16 years old, few years ago, was not treated well. I wish she could've had better. It's very sad to think there are adults that neglect animals.
Yeah, my family also neglected and abused me, so... I have nothing but negative/unpleasant feelings towards my parents.
I also know I am not the best with animals so.. I don't think I'll get another pet unless I get chosen by a stray cat like a lot of people on the internet do. lol
