Look! Is it? It is!!! It's... It's... A Miniature Climax?
Yes Ladies, Gentlemen, and Gentlefurs, it is a mini climax. Or "Mini Max" as I have learned to call it. The insparation came from a LONG out of production On30 conversion kit. It was produced by BVM (Boulder Valley Models) to convert the Bachmann HO scale Climax locomotive into a teeny tiny peteet 14 Ton Climax locomotive. (and they dubbed the conversion kit the "Mini Max")
I would LOVE to build this thing and have it for my Big Thunder Mountain RR & Mining Co. But it has proven to be VERY difficult to find a Bachmann HO Climax locomotive. Actually the stopped making them. (which sucks cause' I wanted an HO one anyway)
Anywho, I think we can all agree that this would be the sort of locomotive that would be seen hauling copper ore down from the Superstition Mountains or hauling empty ore cars up to the mines. I have yet to number this engine for the BTMt. RR, but I do have a name. "Clyde" was suggested by my mom and honestly I think it fits.
And as for the color scheme there will be a considerable amount of green and polished brass. But it wont be like any of the BTMt. RR schemes seen already. This one will look more like the scheme used on the "Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railraod" locomotives.
In addition to this Mini Max the BTMt. RR also has two other geard locos. One shay and one heisler. I will be making concepts of these locos but be pacient, for I do have a few things that need to be done first.
