Admission: I know it's an old toon tradition at this point, but I'm still to this day trying to wrap my head around birds with teeth... O.O

Love this, but shouldn't the highlight at the back-top of his head greater reflect is feather color, rather than overridingly the sky tint (like his rear body highlight)? The head highlight can begin to come across as a 'double image'.

Thanks for pointing that out, I've noticed that too and have been going through all the shots correcting little render errors like that :)
