"If you go out in the woods today, you're in for a big surprise.
If you go out in the woods today, you'll end up eating flies.
She chants a spell and POOF! You're a frog.
You'll spend the rest of your life in the bog.
'Cause that's the way it is when you deal with wi~tches."
Poor Princess Patina. They told her she should go into the forest, but she thought that being a princess meant she could do anything she liked. Well, just because you can do a thing, doesn't mean it's a good idea. She didn't realize her mistake until it started to get towards evening and she realized she was hopelessly lost. There were no trails in the forest, you see.
Then she heard a rustling in the bushes. She froze in terror. Was it a monster? She held her breath, hoping it would go away, but the rustling came closer. She saw the leaves of the bushes quivering as it drew nearer. In a moment, she would scream out loud!
A bunny popped out of the underbrush.
"Oh," Princess Patina said with a sigh that turned into a chuckle. She kneeled down next to the bunny and stroked its chin. "I thought you were something else."
"Like what?" said an old voice as cracked as dried leather.
With a jump, the princess turned and saw an old woman, warty nosed with knotty-jointed fingers and cracked nails, wearing a brown and red peasant dress with a broad-brimmed, pointed hat. She grinned tremendously, exposing yellowing teeth. The bunny bolted into the bushes in terror, but Princess Patina was too relieved to see another person that she didn't think to question that.
"Hello, good woman. Can you help me? I'm lost and can't find my way back."
"You certainly are," chortled the old woman. "Didn't anyone tell you that you shouldn't come into these woods?"
"The peasants have their superstitions, but I am a princess. I'm much too educated to believe in ghosts and goblins."
"Oh-ho! Aren't you the wise one! And I suppose you wouldn't believe in witches, either?"
The princess sniffed. "Of course not."
The old woman grinned again. A knowing grin.
"Look, can you help me out of the forest? I'm the princess of this kingdom. I can reward you for your help."
The old woman circled the princess like a vulture, eyeing her up. Suddenly, that grin seemed less knowing and more hungry and Patina found she really didn't like the gleam in the old woman's yellow eyes.
"I really like that crown of yours," she said. "I think I'll take it."
"I beg your pardon, madam? You can't just take my crown!"
'Why not?" answered the old woman. "You won't be needing it anymore?"
Princess Patina started to ask what that meant, but the old woman began to chant. She couldn't understand the words with her ears, but her body understood. The tone commanded, much the same as the tone she spoke to peasants with, but at a deeper, more fundamental level. Her mind railed against the orders, but she still obeyed. She felt a tingling sensation course throughout her body, coupled with a feeling of unpleasant clamminess.
"Wait!" Princess Patina muttered. "What are you doing?"
The old woman kept chanting. Unable to resist the words, she crouched down on her hands and knees. Unable to speak, her eyes begged for mercy, but the old woman had none to spare. Princess Patina shriveled, her body shrinking down into her dress until she could no longer see the old woman. The crown tumbled from her head and fell onto the grass. Struggling with the folds of her dress, now so big it seemed like a circus tent had collapsed on top of her, she managed to free herself just in time to see the old woman pick up the crown. With an admiring grin, she turned it over in her hands, letting the last light of the setting sun catch its sparkling gems. With a satisfied nod, she stuffed it into her purse.
"Wait til I tell my sister I turned the princess into a frog!" she cackled. "She'll be so jealous! You might even say she'll be green with envy!"
A frog? No! It couldn't be! The princess tried to shout, but all that came out was a belching croak.
"Not quite as green as you are, though, my dear."
The old woman's hand lashed out like a snake, catching the princess around the waist. She grinned as she raised Patina up to eye level. Her breath smelled of old grave-dirt and decay. Patina struggled, but couldn't wriggle out of the grip.
"You shouldn't have come here. I'm Hilda, the wicked witch of the woods, and this is my land. Nobody who comes to this forest leaves without being changed by the experience."
Patina croaked pitifully, her mournful eyes gazing upward.
"Oh, don't feel too bad, Princess. Being a frog isn't so bad, considering. Why, just the other day I turned an arrogant knight into a snail. At least you still have a bit of mobility. And you have some very lovely spots!"
Hilda cackled again. She set the princess down, giving her a nudge with her foot.
"Don't go getting any ideas about kisses from princes either," Hilda called after her as she hopped off into the underbrush. "After all, you can't believe what you hear in fairy tales!"
With the witch's cackling following her, Princess Patina disappeared deeper into the woods. No one ever saw her again, at least as far as anyone knew. The kingdom searched for months and months to no avail. If anyone did pass by the princess, they wouldn't recognize her. After all, who pays attention to a lonely, green frog on the side of the road?
Poor Princess Patina!

So, this is my second pic for Witchtober. I'm gonna try and do one or two pics a week. This one was provided by Schnops, who's always got such a fun style for drawing characters. Considering the background is quickly traced from a cartoon screenshot with a few details thrown in in a very slapdash kind of way, that came out pretty good.
And of course I was going to do a frog tf for this. I mean, it being my favorite tf, and one commonly associated with witches, why wouldn't I? If you weren't expecting this, you obviously don't know me very well yet.

The other day Princess Patina came across an Asian student walking down the road, suddenly she felt she could talk again!.
So she humped to the student and told him "Hello, I'm princess Patina, an evil witch turned me into a frog, if you'll help me return to my old self I'll mary you and we'll both live in my castle!".
The student smiled, grabbed and put her in his bag.
"Hey!" Shouted the princess from inside the bag "where are you taking me? You're supposed to help me lift the curse!".
"I'm an asian student your majesty" said the student "i have no time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool!"
