The rebuild Goethe tower in the cityforest in the south of Frankfurt. It is a 43 meter tall wooden observation tower, and a popular local landmark. The original tower was build in 1931 and was destroyed in 2017 when id burned down due to arson. Now it has been rebuild. I, like many Frankfurters, was devastated by the destruction of the old tower. There was a lot of attachment to it as at the foot of the tower is a famous spot for daytrips on Sundays with a beer garden and a large playground. This year it had been reguild almost like the original, it was finished just a few weeks ago, so of course I had to check it out.

Yeah, unfortunately the old tower was destroyed by arson in 2017. There were other wooden buildings like the pavillions of the chinese garden in the Bethmanpark (another favorite spot of me), the pavillion of the korean garden in the Grüneburgpark and a wooden barrac that was an artist associations clubhouse near the river also destroyed by arson at the same time, the wooden building of a Kindergarten was extinguished before there was larger damage. It is assumed that all of this was doenby the same person, but the arsonist was never caught. If he would have been caught there would have probably been a lynchmob of angry Frankfurters been waiting for him, and to be honest, I would have been one of the persons that would have gotten his pitchfork and torches out of the basement.
The view is impressive, unfortunately you can (also due to the plague) currently only get up with a ticket which are given out via a lottery.
But this is how the view to the city looks (this image is 10 years old) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goeth.....0_panorama.jpg
