Summary: In 1932 at a prison called 'The Green Mile', prison guard named Paul Edgecombe is in charge of watching over prisoners who are sentenced to be executed by the electric chair. A new prisoner is admitted named John Coffey, who is found guilt of raping and murdering two girls. Paul soon befriends the gentle giant John, and finds out that there is something more wondrous and supernatural about John.

                    The main character who ends up executed in the movie is loosely based off of a real court case which occurred in 1944. a 14 yr old black male was accused of killing two girls in Alcolu, South Carolina. He was wrongly convicted and sentenced to death by electrocution. At the age of 14.
