Perinigricon is a term in astrophysics. It means the point of closest approach in an orbit around a black hole; the other encountered synonyms are perimelasma and peribothron.
So, here's yet another stab at a symbolic, non-literal kind of art. It also showcases how meandering ways my inspiration can take, as it was initially inspired by an old lamp in art deco style, using this kind of pose. Together with my scientific readings, the whole idea crystallized in just such a form.
Also imagine what a coincidence: I finished this picture today, and as I was close to finishing I found out that today is also the day when three scientists were awarded the Nobel Prize for discoveries about the black hole. How cool is that!?

No ta czarna dziura nie ssie!
No chyba, że lubi spaghetti. Z siebie samego... >.<

What amazing details in the pose and fur texture of the character. When I saw the "Thumbnail" of the image, at first I thought it was one of those "Puzzles" which involves a cylindrical mirror, and another image is revealed when the mirror is placed in the center of the image. Not quite... But this is still a really impressive and well done piece. I also think it's wonderful that there was the coincidence of those three scientists/astronomers winning the Noble Prize for their study on black holes too.
It's called "Anamorphic Art" where an image can only be seen through some sort of device, in this case a cylindrical mirror. Here are a few examples.

Enjoy.
