Angora bunny imitation, ur doin it rite.
In fact this is my sister's latest rescue dog - no name yet. My sis specializes in placing handicapped pets. No Name is a 4 year old, purebred rough collie (that's Lassie type) with anophthalmia, which basically means her eyes never formed.
It's one of those things that seems to freak people out if they're not used to it, but when my sis and I shared a townhouse she had a collie with the same condition, Bonnie, who was tremendously talented - she did therapy work, rally obedience, cart and weight pulling, hiked and swam. She could also hear me gently crack an eggshell from a full story away, through a closed door, and would come down the stairs at a dead run to make sure she got the yolk.
The moral of this story, kids, is that a 'slightly irregular' pet can be even more awesome than you would suspect! Look at No Name and her adorable floofy ears and splotchy nose . . . how could you resist? I'm sure she'll find a good home.
EDIT: Yes, she's found a home!

I used to work for a breeder and it was maddening the way people would obsess over making sure the puppy they were getting was "perfect". My first dog, Tiny Tim, had a cleft palate and bow legs, he looked like a beached manatee - and he was smart, and incredibly sweet. I wouldn't have swapped him for the fanciest show dog on the planet.
I took in a German Shepherd who had Mega-esophagus: Her swallowing mechanism was dysfunctional from birth. It's usually terminal. We had to feed her every day and sit her up for an hour until the food went down. However, we had her for 5 years before she passed, and she was so much fun. I miss her tremendously.
My dog Zeus was the runt of his litter, and when we got him he was sick with kennel cough and worms. He has lock-jaw, and can't properly close with mouth all the way. The vet apparently told my parents he was so sickly that he could have died from heart failure from just running around at any time.
He's 14 years old and is still in good health, aside from his teeth.

Haha! My cat Philomène was a bit like that. I got her much older, mind you... She was rescued from a feral mother when she was a kitten (I'm not sure what happened to the Mom, I'm sure she got spayed but I'm not sure whether she was social enough to be adopted or whether she was released). She spent 6 bloody years at the shelter with no one giving her a single look. Then when I went to visit the shelter, I crouched to meet the kitties and she just climbed on my lap. Right there. She chose me.
So I took her home and boy was she ugly. She smelled awful, she had a horrible gingivitis and her gums were so swollen her mouth wouldn't close. She had ear mites and conjunctivitis. She was really really ugly and smelly. My boyfriend was quite taken aback when I brought her home. But he trusted me. And after a few weeks of good food, a dental clean up, antibiotics... She's the cutest most lovable little feline. And she's turning 12 this summer and stull acts like a 6 months old kitten. :)
Sometimes you adopt a pet.
sometimes you adopt potential. ;)

It's people like your sister that give me that shred of hope in today's day and age. I'm so tired of hearing "breeder-talk", myself.
I don't care if your dog has stunty legs or the wrong coloured nose! It's still doesn't deserve to be disrespected and called "hideous" because of something like that!
I caught someone on FA with an upload of a Corgi - talking about how much they despised american corgi's because of their looks.. and they aren't even "malformed"!
I'd like to see them live a life with a disability and then think the same way, god damn!
/rant! Sorry - Needed to get this out to somebody who can relate :( I think this pup is absolutely beautiful! She's like a little angel with all that white fur :)

Man, that is a cool looking dog.
It's like the story of my rat, Pachi. I reserved two female baby rats from rockstarrats.com, and eventually noticed that only one female was not yet reserved. I said to the rescuer that I'd like to adopt a third one. She said that that one had a scratch on her eye and would lose it, and wasn't sure if I'd still want her. One-eyed rats are no issue, so I adopted her and now she is my favorite of the ratly trio :D.

I can sadly see how people can easily be hesitant to take her... I know i would hesitate. Not because she has no eyes and it's ugly, but because I would be worried that I would not be able to take care of her ok. Are her eyes shut or are the sockets left open? If they're open, I'd be worried I wouldn't know how to take care of them, keeping them clean and all, without hurting her in any way.
I'm sure more people are worried about the extra work than about the looks... At least I like to believe that. : /
I too wishes she finds a good home because she surely looks like she deserves it. :)

She looks like a friend of mine's dog. Homozygous double-merle collie, which... no, you don't ever breed two merle dogs together because of that risk, but they did and she got Angel, who is both blind and deaf and working towards his therapy certification. This girl looks like a merle-to-merle-breeding, too, but she's beautiful.
This picture gives me the chills in a good way. It's so intriguing, i just don't know how i feel about it. I would love to meet this dog.
I've seen a cat with no eyes because of a condition, but not a dog that never had them in the first place. I think it'd be neat to have a dog like this, to see his/her mannerisms and things of that nature.

While it sucks these types of blindness conditions seem to predominantly happen to white/albino animals (they're so pretty!) it's so nice that folks like you and your sister take these special needs critters in so they can live up to their full potential and lead a normal life! She's gorgeous!
Its sad that animals like her exist simply because some greedy breeder wanted to make a buck.
But at the same time happy, she was rescued and will soon have a home to call her own.
She's also the poster-dog for spay/neutering and stopping BYB and puppy mills.
I think a good name would be Zero, she reminds me of the ghost dog from Nightmare Before Christmas. :3

There are only two reasons I can think of for a dog or cat not to be fixed...
1: theres a medicle reason, like allergies or something.
2: you are a reputable breeder who carefully plans every part of each litter, does tests on both parents for breed-related diseases, and wishes to better the breed of choice while compeeting in shows.
Sorry if I sound like a bitch...My frustration comes from ignorant and greedy people owning my favorite breed, Pit bulls (or pit-like dogs)...Who don't fix their animals, then try and sell the resulting puppies at insane prices...or who breed 'american bullies'...While local shelters are overflowing with their resulting unwanted dogs....
But when I see a special needs dog find a home, its the best thing ever. Because most people don't want a 'broken' dog.
Wish I could take her home. :3

No, I'm completely with you on the anger and frustration. And I've always been a sucker for animals that need a little extra help - when I worked for the breeder it always amazed me how obsessed people were with getting a 'perfect' dog. My dog at the time was a reject - cleft palate, bad heart, bowed legs. He was a sweet, smart, wonderful dog and I couldn't have loved him more. But people are shallow. What are you gonna do?
People who need to have the perfect dog are why pet stores still exist. :c
When I can get my own dog (We have one, but he's the family dog) I want to find the dog everyone passes by. Or the dog everyone considers 'ugly'...(lol, like a chinese crested. :B)
Most of my anger is directed at backyard breeders who do it only for the money, not to the breeders who honestly love their animals and have devoted their time to the breed.
Oh, and the people who continue to give pit bulls a bad name....(Backyard breeders, dogfighters, People who only want one for the macho image)
