No matter how much he refuses to admit it, Shorty can't help but feel embarrassed at the fact that he kinda likes his current predicament.
I know this sounds weird, but... I consider Shorty to be in my top 5 for favorite LBT characters, despite not getting a lot of screentime. I guess the reason for this is because I see some pretty cool potential in him, to me he kinda feels like a dark reflection of Littlefoot, like what if Littlefoot never met his friends on that faithful day, and instead continued to be a loner? would he have ended up like Shorty? I want to play with that idea a little more with my LBT AU.
Also, where the hell was Shorty in LBT 14? I mean com'on! that movie is about Bron for crying out loud, you'd think his adopted son would at least be with him, I mean even just a Cameo would have been enough for me!

I actually drew Ducky in diapers about four months ago, and it's very accurate to her actual design from the film!

Yep, I somehow missed this one. And this was one that was definitely not one to be missed. :(
You make a great point with Shorty. I had usable sight to properly enjoy LBT X and his behavior would be, to me, like one may expect from a lost Littlefoot who never had the fortune of meeting Ducky, Petrie, and then getting Cera to finally not ditch him.
He 'may' have met Petrie when he went to try eating the 'talking tree', but it is no guarantee. He also could have run into Cera later, but she may not have stuck around if she didn't feel she could be like a little 'Uncle Pterano' to Ducky, Petrie, and Spike. (I wonder if her young mind managed to forget just how much like Petrie's uncle she was like during their great journey?)
I forget the boy's name from the TV series that Ali really got into, but I know he and Shorty would have far more conflict than Shorty did with Littlefoot.
And, great point. We have no idea what happened to Shorty when Brawn got stuck in 'LBT 14'. We can hope he went with a stable family that was not wanderers, but the situation Brawn was stuck in gives for a more likely sadder outcome. :(
Fortunately, thanks to you, Shorty is here, cute, and getting some attention he has been denied since his times in 'The Great Longneck Migration'. :)
