Rain is here, on my front door
wonder what it's knocking for
at this time of day
the lights are off, the window's closed
had my share of tired doses
of time gone to waste
"Hello, how may I help you?" (please leave this world)
"What's the forecast for Monday?" (please go)
"When will things turn out for the better?" (better go now)
"Better dreams? And better days, better life, 'cause time is running low
pull me through now”
Tell me where to go now,
the scene has just been set
through these artificial choices
that's made my life forgettable
with time to guide the lonely way
through wasted days in May
memorials of foregone moments
the funeral's today
"Hello, is this my new home?" (call emergency)
"You must be my neighbours." (do go, don't go)
"Thank you all for these presents,
a failing heart, defective soul,
no will to live, no help at all
I hope you'll have a good night
tonight."
wonder what it's knocking for
at this time of day
the lights are off, the window's closed
had my share of tired doses
of time gone to waste
"Hello, how may I help you?" (please leave this world)
"What's the forecast for Monday?" (please go)
"When will things turn out for the better?" (better go now)
"Better dreams? And better days, better life, 'cause time is running low
pull me through now”
Tell me where to go now,
the scene has just been set
through these artificial choices
that's made my life forgettable
with time to guide the lonely way
through wasted days in May
memorials of foregone moments
the funeral's today
"Hello, is this my new home?" (call emergency)
"You must be my neighbours." (do go, don't go)
"Thank you all for these presents,
a failing heart, defective soul,
no will to live, no help at all
I hope you'll have a good night
tonight."
