Back to the redwoods! If you are familiar with the Aptos area (a small town south of Santa Cruz, considered part of the greater Santa Cruz area to some) this is Nisene Marks, our State Park, and the redwood forest I'm most familiar with! Though if you have been to Nisene Marks you may know the main entrance in Aptos Village. I actually took this on a secret side trail near Vienna Dr.......and you aren't actually allowed haha but people use it all the time! (Doesn't make sense to me to block off a public park entrance. It's not due to Covid.) I wanted to be on the most secluded entrance so I can stay away from people and it worked out great. I actually checked out the main entrance out of curiosity (I've gone plenty of times and there was barely anyone there, but i would prefer if of course, no one was) and it was FULL!! Like, the parking lot! I've never seen Nisene Marks entrance full! I'm thankful for the lesser known entrances/trails. If you want to visit Nisene Marks but are worried about the main entrance being full, try the Vienna Dr entrance. (This isn't it but near it.)
