Toffee was just really prepared.
The confrontation with Toffee ends up taking a bit of a stranger turn for Incubus Marco, as Toffee attempts to try and sway him against Star by appealing to his Incubus nature. Though, in the process, it only seems to weird the boy out.
Not only that, but after having already experienced being kidnapped and/or captured three times within the span of the couple or so months since Star first arrived, Marco can’t help but worry a little about his future.
