OH GOSH THEY DO!!! Our zoo has several maned wolves and you can smell them LONG before you can see them. However, they're also very cool looking creatures, and this piece is beautiful. Great work!

Pretty much all foxes and their cousins have a very musky odor. Out where I live you can smell the red foxes without ever seeing them. Skunk-like is a good word for it.

Yeah, they stink. When they were on display at the San Francisco Zoo, there was a police response, apparently someone reported smelling pot over by the maned wolf exhibit, turns out it was just the maned wolves!

They do! I had an enjoyable day at the zoo once watching people walk by the maned wolf exhibit and then start sniffing in horrified disbelief!

I actually do know, despite living far away from their natural habitate... like,. a globus away. :)
our resident zoo has a pair of them, and they smell all over the place. very spicy, like predators. but they are so cute... especially when they scratch their ears. ^^
