She was found by five Dakotaraptors after her parents and most of her sibling eggs were killed in an earthquake. The Feathered Fast Biters took her egg to their home of Hunter Valley, thinking it a Sharptooth egg, and, much like Littlefoot and his friends had tried two weeks or so earlier with Chomper, they thought they could raise it on their own. Much like Littlefoot's group, they had mistaken the type, though for the opposite reason, the child being a Flatooth (Leaf Eater) instead of a Sharptooth. One of the group, Thorn, wanted to eat her since she was a Clubtail and some of the others were hesitant as to what to do, but, ultimately, the group's leader, Lorenzo, decided to keep her.

As they feared their parents and the other raptors would eat her if they found her, so they hid her, only bringing her out at night. Their parents were a bit confused why they slept more during the day, but as some Sharpteeth hunted at night anyway, it didn't raise too much alarm. However, as she grew older and older, it became increasingly harder to hide her. Eventually, one very windy day, she was discovered by Dakota, the nephew and heir of the pack leader Xavier. The raptors arrived in time to stop Dakota from eating her, but she learned that they were Sharpteeth and that their kind normally ate her kind (they had kept her in the dark on that in order to keep her from being afraid of them).

Now they needed a place to hide, but a tornado that came from the storm had blocked the back entrance out of Hunter Valley, also trapped Littlefoot and his friends, now in their late teens, in Hunter Valley as well, with the only other entrance guarded by Xavier and Dakota.
