The Beast is fun. I'm almost certain it's obvious what his real name is, but when he initially appears in the comic it's supposed to be a mystery... So, "The Beast" he stays in his reference sheet. Don't want to get too spoilery, after all.

Anyway, it's been... Quite a hot minute since I've drawn this guy. Getting his anatomy in check was pretty difficult, but I think I managed to get the hang of it! I wanted him to feel really "top heavy" so gave him bulky, long arms while also keeping his legs fairly short.

A key character trait for him is the fact that his body is actually more suited for going around on all fours -- so, I wanted him to look wobbly and awkward when he was on two legs. After all, if a bear tried to walk around for an extended period on its hind legs, it'd look pretty weird, right?

I don't have an explanation for the hilariously big tail. That's just something he's always had, and I didn't have the heart to change it.

He's a good monster doggo.
