A kitty girl cooling off in front of a fan on a summer day.
This will be my 2nd AC artshow piece, and I thought I'd post the sketch for feedback so I could correct any errors and such before I finish it up...
I like to portray japanese themes and imagery, so this seemed like a good idea, since I'm in a summery mood, with the weather warming up here recently. Plus Anthrocon is in summer, so there ya go.
I left the vanishing point in, just over her head, in case I need to change things in perspective.

Well... maybe. Everything can be.
But in RF gurls can only be raped in:
Stucked lift.
Shaded car.
or visiting weak-known company....
But our families are not even feel something sexy to each other... maybe because "my kid" feeling isn't passing in our parents..... maybe because they're realising "no, no... THAT would be bad idea"
So, i'm completely safe in my relationship

uh-oh.... hon... don't think about.... "what if tommorrow plane will crash onto my house" you can stick yourself into corner with that. I tell you what. With all theese "bla-blers" about crime and rapes..... i'm walking in about 1:30 midnight on pretty dark streets. No fear, no caution - just people walking on their "night duties"
Life isn't that bad, as they saying.

Reminds me of one time when I was a kid... I just loved to sit in front of the fan all day, feeling the cold breeze. Well, except I didn't pull down my shirt ^^;
Today, I prefer the shore, or just somewhere outside.
The only thing I would comment on is the pawpad on her left foot. It looks a little bit too small from what I see. But then again, you know best =) Otherwise, looking great so far!

i don't think it's the fan ellipse itself, maybe the little circle in the front -- i've created a redline here http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j.....nt=redline.jpg the two vertical lines aren't completely parallel (very close though), one of them isn't perfectly perpendicular to the horizontal of the fan.
honestly though it wasn't something that i personally noticed right off the bat. it does make it look a tiny bit like it's tilted towards the back, but i think when i first looked at it my brain went 'well it's one of those rotating fans and it's rotating' haha. you do awesome work and i'm really glad you take the time to get feedback on these tiny little issues because it really makes the overall work look just amazing :3

I took a photo of my fan while attempting to keep the same perspective and overlayed it as best as possible.

I hadn't noticed before, but you might have missed the little switch to allow the fan to oscillate

That works =) And its a similar shape. The one I own is more like this: http://www.air-n-water.com/photos/3123-b.jpg
I would probably modify the stop (area from her forehead to her nose) a bit. Right now, it looks too defined, like a dog's nose. http://k41.pbase.com/u18/sid6581/up.....catprofile.jpg , http://www.cat-pause.com/wp-content.....at-profile.png
That's all I have. Can't wait to see the end result:)

That looks wonderful. Sitting in front of the fan is one of the best parts of summer, if you ask me! It's not just how cool it can be, either. The feel of air moving across you is a pleasure like nothing else. I love how happy she looks, and the way her tail is mimicking the motion of her hair in the breeze. Her finger tugging at her collar is a cute little detail, too.
About the only thing I see by way of a critique is the missing fan cord, that somebody already mentioned. And I can't decide if her neck looks too long to me. At first it did, but now I'm not certain. Really helpful, I know. Good luck with it, and I'd love to see the finished piece sometime!

Am I missing her right top strap on her front side? I'm pretty sure I can see it on her back.
I agree that the fan cage looks a little "off." Almost as if the cage were turned farther toward the viewer than the motor. Posing a real fan would probably give you an exact reference.
While the tail wouldn't "stream" because her body is in the way, it would still flutter some. And anything coming out of the lee of her body would be blown directly.

Other than the small fixes that other have pointed out, this looks great! I especially love the background you chose for it, you obviously put a lot of thought into it and thats one of the reasons why I admire your art so much ^^ might I make a possible suggestion, based on how much green you'll have outside, could possibly throw in a few colorful type of flowers found there? Thats only if it wont distract too much from the foreground, I'm not sure what colors you had in mind for her fur =) love how the stepping stones (I believe thats what those are) goes towards the vanishing point!
The perspective looks spot on to me. And I really love the BG set up so far. I'm very interested in the colors that will be used. :3
It's likely something that would be painted not drawn, but condensation on the bottle would be sweet.
Perhaps a napkin would be a nice addition since watermelons can be so messy.
Her bangs also seem to be going a bit low, and it makes it feel like her head is a little small. Perhaps if they were more swooshed above her forehead it would also make it feel like her head was closer to the fan?
Wonderful overall, thank you for letting everyone get a little preview in of your piece!

Your perspective is always so inspiring! I really does look top-notch, always, plus this picture is cute. :]
There was one tiny thing that caught my eye (only after staring at the perspective lines for a few minutes.)
Outside the main room with the cat, the porch and the roof beams aren't quite parallel (for one-point perspective.) I don't know if such a tiny thing would be worth changing, since it's not immediately obvious.

Can't wait to see the piece finished and in person at AC!

I know your a busy woman, but some day if you have the chance, for the love of god please do a perspective tutorial. Your perspective is always SO amazeing and well done.
I love the japanese themes in most of your work aswell. I'd love to see you do a Geisha entertainign at a tea house. GREAT work, can't wait to see it finished!

After a close look, it seems that the fan cord and speed controls (which could be a knob on the back or buttons on the base, depending on the model), nothing else seems to be amiss.
(the fan cage itself seems to be properly drawn, I can't find anything wrong with it)
It'll look great once it's finished!

As has been mentioned, some condensation showing on the bottle, and a (cloth) napkin for the watermelon would be nice touches.
Her lower jaw looks just slightly undershot, unusual for a cat. As noted earlier, her profile is too canine.
Axis lines for ellipses are a common drafting trick, especially when they aren't vertical or horizontal. There are ellipse templates in many variations available at your favorite art store, in the drafting area. Lots of other useful templates, too. (I've been working as a drafter for 25+ years, and I probably own half of them.)
Beautiful art, as always. Looking forward to seeing the colored version.
