Jumping animal study number two.~
Never took this one very seriously, as good as it looks. I think it's because it's closely based on a published photo I saw in Boston Globe Magazine sometime in the 80s. I still have a cutout of the pic, in fact. All I did here was just replace the non-anthro kitteh with my own Spider, who appears back in my gallery in a few places.
So I guess I don't consider it to be entirely "original". Meh. XP

And the cat was on story number 2, I believe. A nonissue. Cats leap from that height all the time and they can take it. I has picture of the neighbor's cat on their garage roof. She'd climbed up there. In fact, when I saw her, she was peeking out one of the windows in the cupola. ^^

I remember a study that shows that it is most dangerous for cats to fall out of stories less then 8. Anything from 8 stories upwards, the cat will almost always survive, whereas below eight stories the fatality rate is much higher. The reason for this is that after eight stories a cat reaches its terminal velocity, and has enough time to rotate its body so that it lands on its feet. Broken kitty legs, but it will still survive.

I must say, I really like the mix of a mostly realistic cat wearing very non-catlike garments (i.e. any at all). The dynamic is stunning as well as tasteful and very fitting.
Reminds of a kid trying to skip out of doing homework by slipping out the back window to avoid being caught by his parents.
