-Personality-Alister is highly-emotional, excitable, and very neurotic (deals with the issues of generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and phobias). He's mostly seen in a state of zealotry, impulsively diving into any situation that piques his interest. His lack of common sense is made up for in a high level of creativity and academic intelligence. Often described as an "ingenious manchild", he's asexual and quite naive in terms of anything sexual in nature, which he finds as being absolutely disgusting. He's immature and innocent, although he's fully aware of the fact and will sometimes use that aspect as an excuse to avoid things he doesn't like (like sexual situations). Occasionally when the need arises he can tap into a tiny sliver of hidden maturity. He also has an overly-idealistic sense of traditional chivalry and can be overly-zealous about his traditional moral views. He's a rather highly empathetic individual, as well. Optimistic, yet can be as annoying as hell. Compulsive packrat- loves to collect small metal objects in order to build things or for just the pleasure of it.

-Background- Alister was born to a large, typical middle-class family with a father who was a Chow Chow dog and a mother who was a coyote. He shared his childhood with several siblings as well including four brothers (Morgan, Jeremy, Victor, and his twin Edgar), and two sisters, (Kelsey and Melody). For the most part he had a rather typical and happy childhood. From early on in age, he showed signs of his neuroses, but he also showed signs of his brilliance as well. Most of his anxiety from early age was just passed off as typical childhood worrying and while his parents were very proud of his intelligence, his father (in particular) hoped that his eccentricities were just a matter of being a child and that he would eventually grow out of them. One of this siblings, Jeremy, was an overly ambitious boy in everything he did and always strived to be the center of attention. When he could see that Alister was starting to get that desired attention, Jeremy grew envious. One night Jeremy woke up terrified by a nightmare he had about dolls. He proceeded the next morning to tell the entire family about this in graphic detail, which terrified Alister. Noticing this, Jeremy, out of envy-driven hostility, started to make up other horrifying dreams and stories about dolls to terrorize Alister. This lead to Alister's phobia of dolls.
As Alister grew into a teenager, his intelligence flourished and his parents were extremely proud of how he was excelling at school. But those anxieties and eccentricities that they hoped would go away with childhood never did. This was often quite worrisome to them. They would often be concerned over Alister's social life as well, worrying that his awkward mannerisms would leave unable to really make any friends. Alister's mother was a little more accepting of his quirks, considering that she was prone to being delightfully eccentric herself. Alister's father, though, had a bit more time accepting Alister's behavior. While Alister and his father loved each other both very much, both of them were somewhat of a mystery to each other and would sometimes have difficulty communicating with one another. Alister's father often pushed him to try and be more like a normal teenage boy, which meant dating girls... something that Alister had no interest in.
In terms of school, Alister was pretty much unpopular through and through. He wasn't terribly bullied, but most of his classmates were usually just too put off by his eccentric behavior and awkwardness to even befriend him. He did manage to find other strange friends who shared his interests and he was happy with surrounding himself with this small group of friends.
Alister graduated high school and went off to college with flying colors. He decided to pursue the arts. He worked on a sculpture degree. In the middle of his Junior year, his parents died in a car accident. From there both he and Edgar were taken in by his grandparents until he could get back on his own two feet so to speak. After college he knew he needed to move out of his grandparent's house, but he also knew that he didn't have enough funds to pay for an apartment by himself. Edgar and Alister then arranged an agreement that both of them could share an apartment and pay rent together, which is what they ended up doing.
They ended up moving into the Undergrounds, which was the only thing they could afford. Edgar worked at a coffee shop, while Alister worked in a factory maintaining the machines which did the factory work. Soon the factory was closed down and Alister was out of a job. After that he had trouble finding work due to his nervousness during interviews.

-Other Misc. Factoids- +Along with anxiety disorders, Alister suffers from insomnia, which is most likely from his anxiety disorders.
+Alister has a habit of collecting various items such as gears, wrenches, keys, and nearly anything else that catches his eye. Some of it he uses in his sculptures, but some of it he just likes to have it around because he just likes the way it looks. He often strings the items he collects on strings and hangs them from the ceiling of their apartment.
+Alister hates Edgar's smoking. He will often chide Edgar for smoking. His biggest concern is obviously Edgar's health. He usually talks about how Edgar's smoking costs too much money, how it makes the the apartment smell, and so on. The health issue makes both of them somewhat uneasy to talk about, although it's understood by both of them that Edgar's health is what is really at issue.
+Being a canine, both he and Edgar are prone to gluttony. Ironically, though, even though he's much skinnier, he's prone to being a bigger eater then Edgar is. Alister is skinny due to a combination of insanely fast metabolism, high energy, and he will occasionally forget to eat when immersed in a big art project that he can't pull himself away from. When he does eat, though, he will usually gorge himself if given the opportunity.
+Both he and Edgar are devoutly Catholic. This is where a lot of his morals stem from. Both he and Edgar were raised in a Catholic family. Alister was always really enthused about his religion ever since he was a small child. While he doesn't force his religion on people, he will enthusiastically talk about it with anyone who wants to talk about it.
+Also being canine, both Edgar and Alister have a bit of an opportunist streak. While Edgar is a bit more opportunistic then Alister, both of them are not about scavenging through things that others throw out and taking the discarded, yet still usable items, for themselves.
+His likes are usually eccentric and esoteric. He loves to study things such as the paranormal and cryptozoology. He also has a general interest in anything that is often considered weird, grotesque or creepy by most people. In many ways, this often makes him creepy to others.
+Has a nostalgic obsession with his childhood. He remembers how he went on many road trips with his family to various places with a yearning that can go from bittersweet to being emotionally upsetting. For him, those years held a kind of quintessential sense of wonder and adventure. And while he logically knows that he can never completely recapture those memories or that feeling, there's still some drive for him to keep on trying to recapture it anyway, even if for a brief moment. Along with his adventurous spirit, this is also plays a part as to why he always wants to go new places and gain new experiences.
+When he encounters something that reminds him of his parent's death, he will almost instantly break down crying. Part of this is just his emotional nature and part of this is the fact that it's still something that he still hasn't been able to entirely get over. He had a very strong bond with both of his parents, as familial bonds are generally strong among canines. Plus the death of his parents also meant an even further separation from those idyllic memories that Alister desires to recapture and a realization that his life is changing.
+Alister is a complete teetotaller.
