I really like the idea of the gods having animal forms. Setesh and Qebehsenuef are some pretty central gods to the story of TCotC (and I love them dearly), so I decided to give myself a little more practice with drawing Setesh!

This is his therian (beast) form, where he basically masquerades as an animal while walking among the mortals. His animal form is a sha, like his deity form -- so, he's not immensely different from his deity form.

This form lets him feel some of the strength and authority that he loses when he adopts his mortal form -- Setesh likes being a powerful deity, seeing as he was miserably weak for most of his mortal life. He's not too keen to just throw that power away to look like his old self again. This beast form is, therefore, a compromise: he can somewhat-unsuspiciously walk among the mortals while still feeling powerful.

I added a little shot of Qebehsenuef's animal form alongside Setesh to show how adorably small Qeb is in comparison; Setesh sometimes lets the falcon ride around on his head when they're both in animal form. After the initial rocky start to their relationship, those two actually get along pretty well and become fast friends and more, too, eventually.
