These are wotwots, based off my biology project species (http://smackplz.deviantart.com/art/Wotwot-121585165) of mutated dogs. More info farther down.

Information on Wotwots:
Wotwots are a "breed" of avian dog, found on the island of Pluvia, though they have been exported to the majority of the world. The origin of the breed is uncertain, though it is commonly believed that a ship, carrying hunting dogs, sunk off the coast of Pluvia, and have evolved to the rainforest-esque land of Pluvia.
Wotwots, as canines, stand about as tall as a German Shepard. As anthros, they average 5'8" feet. There is variation in this, though, as they are versatile in genetics, as are humans and other canines.
They favor fruits, but are omnivorous, eating fish, insects, eggs, and birds. Wotwots are covered in a fur-like plumage, with long, whiplike tails to use as rudders as they *glide* (thats right, wotwots do not fly. they glide from tree to tree.) Wotwots generally never touch the ground, primarily only doing so to breed (like dogs, mind you, though wotwots are gender-ambiguous, so regardless of identifying to a gender on the OUTSIDE, they are essentially hermaphrodites, and carry the "gear" to be either gender). Wotwots have a gestation period of about a month, then the mother lays the eggs, and it takes around 2 more months for the eggs to hatch. They nest in the warm sands of Pluvia (in captivity, nest boxes with heat pads and sand are substitutes), and they lay close to 400 marble sized eggs (though only 3 or 4 actually hatch - the rest are "duds," in an effort to prevent predators from eating the actual offspring. Adult wotwots will eat the unhatched eggs once their offspring has hatched in order to regain strength). Wotwots have a nesting pattern of that like penguins, where the father cares and refuses to leave the nest for the first month, and the mother, full of food, returns and switches places with the father. Wotwots are very protective of their offspring.
Wotwots have a lifespan of close to the average large dog (15 years tops), though their anthro lifespan is more like the same as a human.
