Bio:
Nobody really took Gold Bug seriously as a villain. It all started when he was just an average, run-of-the-mill cat burglar looking for a chance to get a big break. He thought he saw it in the form of a batch of irradiated bars of gold that Keswick had coated with radiation to keep burglars from stealing them being shipped to Fort Ox one Saturday afternoon. So, after a few days of careful planning, he began his big heist. Unfortunately, when he got to the vault containing said gold bars, and touched one of them, his exoskeleton got exposed to the radiation, and the bars melted onto it, coating him in a nearly indestructible gold shell, and changing his life forever.
When he awoke in prison the next morning, Gold Bug discovered that he's basically the living embodiment of gold, and it gave him a new villainous outlook. He then escaped from prison, and decided to make a name for himself in the supervillain community. Unfortunately, when Gold Bug tried to be a major threat in most of the towns near Petropolis, nobody took him seriously because of his shiny exoskeleton. He always took it to heart, and would buzz away without even attempting to do any sort of crimes.
He eventually came to Petropolis, California after hearing about the high crime rate it has despite having a strong law enforcement division. Gold Bug thought being a bad guy in Petropolis would get more people to take him seriously, but everyone still laughed at his gold exoskeleton and gold-related gimmicks. But, he proved them wrong by using his pincers to slice throughout a street light, and using his gold mist breath to turn most of the patrolling TUFF Troopers into gold statues. So, once the Chief got word of this, he sent Team Katswell out to take care of Gold Bug.
When Kitty and the gang arrived on the scene, they too snickered at Gold Bug's shiny appearance. But, once he pulled out his Gold Glass Gas Gun, he sprayed Kitty with the mist before she got her gun out, freezing her in place. Then, he buzzed off to commit more crimes, leaving the team to get their leader out of the golden gook. Once freed, Kitty had to come up with a plan to bring him down for the count. So, after Keswick told the team that he can't stand high levels of heat, Kitty had Elvis use the fire setting on his gloves to do battle with him. Elvis increased the heat pressure on his fire setting, and during the fight, Gold Bug got more and more hot beneath his exoskeleton. Upon his defeat, Gold Bug was put back in prison, and became an even bigger laughing stock in the villain community than ever.
Personality & Traits:
Gold Bug is very cocky and brash for a villain, but deep down, he feels unappreciated for his villainous deeds. He just wants to be seen as a major threat, but no one takes him seriously because of his bright and shiny gold exoskeleton. Gold Bug does his very best to be the baddest bug around, and earn the respect he deserves. And, when he speaks, there is an insect buzz in his voice.
Because of his unpopularity in the villain community, he doesn't make a lot of villainous friends. But, whenever a bigger villain like Birdbrain or Ripclaw wants to recruit temporary alliances, Gold Bug always get on board, and those villains usually keep him on just to give the others a good laugh. But, once he shows the other villains what he can do, they start to show a bit of respect for him, even though they still can't get over his shiny armor.
Gold Bug's biggest weakness is fire, as mentioned before. He's good with being warm, but hates fire or high levels of heat. The reason being is that it heats up his exoskeleton at high temperatures, causing damage to his vulnerable innards. And, although he may be strong and almost invincible, he's not bright, and loves shiny things and is easy distracted. But, Gold Bug still tries his best to give Team Katswell his worst, and he'll be respected as a villain one day.
Well, that's Gold Bug's interpretation for "TUFF: Team Katswell."
