A friend of mine laid a challenge to make a character in Aseprite doing a simple fighting-game style idle animation. I've never been big on animation because often I feel it constitutes a "weakest link" when clumsily added to high quality artwork. However, pixel art is by nature simplistic and so simple animations complement it well. I've never done either animation or pixel art and this was my first time using this program, but generally I found it pretty intuitive and easy to use (my several hours of wondering where the tools bar was when it was just on the opposite side of the screen the whole time notwithstanding).
Pretty pleased with the end result here :D
