FURSAverance2020 - Matimba refsheet
A project a small group of very capable people embarked upon in response to the pandemic - FURSAverance online furry convention. Two days of panels & interaction for the local South African community & some friends from overseas. :) It was hard work but rewarding! We hope to have another one in 2021.
Our mascot is the feisty but caring honey badger, Matimba (or Mat for short). His name means “strong” in Xitsonga, one of South Africa’s eleven official languages. Honey badgers are resilient and widespread from the southern-most tip of African all the way to the Indian subcontinent - kinda like how FURSAverance aims to reach across borders! He embodies the can-do attitude we had when we tackled this project.
