Huh. Never thought I'd find somebody who actually read those, what... 8 books? No one around me ever seems to have even heard the name Naomi Novik, sadly, as it is a pretty decent book series. Though, the later instalments were getting a little boring. Anyway, glad to see some terrific Temeraire art!
Argh! Even I have to admit that I look ... revoltingly nice when being drawn ADORABLY DOUBTFUL. There are so many things about this picture that I love. The fact that we now have an actual size reference between Temeraire and ship boy demon Ahastar. The fact that Temeraire is draconically unable to understand that Ahastar is sort of a living sentient being. The fact that Temeraire is perfectly polite even when he prepares hours-long-lasting trample tortures. The sheer beauty of that dragon, and that picture as a whole. The wonderful feral pawprint the size of a goddamn pool.
But what gets me the most is how Temeraire is massaging his own foot in preperation of things to come. He is literally warming up.

It's a tough introduction to life in the navy, but at least starting off as Ship's Dragon's Sole Scrubber, then working your way up through draconic sex toy to something resembling a friend/pet is a distinct career path! You just need to be ready for the impromptu trample sessions that will occur whenever you're alone together...

I sorely wish this were canon... The Celestials are the physical manifestation of the mandate of heaven, they're basically god-emperors, how could they not after many dynasties of servitude from smaller subjects like some nice paw worship or something nice and soft to tread on? All Temeraire needs is to "accidentally" step on one to rediscover that!
Great job on the five-toed paws, don't see that very often and I feel like it would be more challenging anatomically to draw than the regular three.
